He's already there - I'll check out the local target/walmart. From the looks on the web, it seemed most of the starter packs were out of stock/not listed.
Well there are many various decks, ive seen some starter ones, but there are many themed ones that can also be used as starters I guess.
I don't play these days, so I'm not exactly sure...
Yeah, most decks (whether they say "starter" or not) will have the rules included in them. So if you buy two decks, you should have everything you need. You should be able to find them almost anywhere, though. I've even seen the decks at drug stores and convenience stores.
That said, this is probably better suited for the card game forum, so I'll move it there.
Reading a rule book is no fun.. You might find later on that a 'starter deck' is a bit dissapointing. The TCG website has compiled a rather entertaining flash demo for people to learn how to play:
It makes it a lot more entertaining and simpler to understand when you do it visually- so I'd recommend you use that if you first, if you have no one else around to teach him.
