I found this:

Spoiler:

If those [the appearance of Lugia and then the appearance of Ho-Oh] were to be the new Box Art covers for HeartGold and Sould Silver over the pictures they are showing now, then that would be really cool. By the way, in case you were wondering, this was a simply Google Search /lol/.

This would be a great idea to put as the new boxart. At least even though Ho-oh's wings are still spreaded out, Ho-oh looks more tougher.

Although I do not mind the art they have now, but Ho-oh looks better in the picture you showed.

hopefully that's their ingame sprites because their sprites for FR/LG/S/R/E/D/P were horribly, well Lugia's was the worst sprite

Plus, the previous sprites of Lugia and Ho-Oh always seemed so similar, so maybe they might make a change.

I love the new art for Ho-oh and Lugia, assuming it's the Sugimori. It's very well done and intense looking; much better compared to the old Sugimori.

Yes, it is the same artist, Sugimori doing his work. He has imporved vastly and it looks great. It grabbed my attention the minute I saw it.

Although I was meerly wondering if the art was the official Sugimori art (wasn't wondering if it was a different artist), you're right. The old GS art was good, but it looks stale compared to the new art. The improvement seems huge to me when you put the old and new art next to each other. :]

It does, and you can tell that they style of drawing has changed for Lugia and Ho-Oh as well.

In my opinion, Lugia looks a bit better than Ho-oh. It's kind of getting boring that Ho-oh's wings are spreaded out again, but the art still looks pretty fascinating. While Lugia has a vicious look to it and I like it.

I personally hate the new Sugimori Ho-Oh and Lugia arts. They look so stupid, Lugia's wings are deformed and Ho-Oh's whole face is hidden, like... why? I want to see his face in his art, I don't want to look at his genitals and his stomach. Again, they favour Silver for the 1000th time by making even the Sugimori art look better for Lugia (still sucks, but awesome compared to Ho-Ohs)

I agree they could have done better with Ho-Oh, like how Lugia was done greatly, but I wouldn't say they are absolutly terrible.

I really don't have any negative opinions on the new art,

I just dun liek the fact that Lugia's wings looks more like hands than anything else

Sort-of wish they used the box art, from one of the fake box arts.

It does look like a stupendous large hand, but it to me it doesn't look too bad with it.

Lugia looks so cool and I love how it looks, as for Hou-ou it looks okay I guess. I just can't stand the girl's new look. Why couldn't they keep it the way it was back in Pokemon Crystal

Lugia's wings look like big hands, Ho-oh is kind of the same as last time, but just a bit different. I like both of the art though, it's really nice.

Yeah i like the way Lugias art looks more then Ho-Ohs art.. Ho-Oh didn't change much i agree. Can't wait to see the ingame sprites.

They never seem to do much with Ho-Oh most of the time, which is kind of sad.

Well, even though Ho-Oh's is pretty bad, these will just be images for the game guide, not actual in-game sprites. The last game guide I got was for Gold and Silver, so I don't really buy them. May buy the guide for nostalgia to remind me of my youth flipping through pages of my old G/S guide.

I forgot to think that these to images would be in the Guide Book. Not a bad thing to put in my opinion, but I would expect maybe something different for the Box Covers still.
