Not sure which gen this belonged in, but whatever.

Was Magearna meant for Gen VI instead of Gen VII? Let's analyze it:

-It's an artificial Pokemon, constructed years ago like AZ's machine
-It's a Fairy-type robot, which is out of place in Alola
-Royalty is mentioned in its Pokedex entries, yet Alola itself barely had royalty shoe-horned into its backstory through Acerola
-Soul-Heart activated when an opponent faints, increasing Magearna's own power, not unlike AZ's machine taking the lives of Pokemon and humans
-The name of its signature move, "Fleur Cannon", is in French, which Kalos is based on

    Your thoughts?

I agree with you. Nothing about Magearna says Alola but it fits thematically really well with Kalos. Maybe they would have released it with a planned Z version that had to be scrapped. That's also probably why Zygarde is in SM even though it doesn't really play a role.

Well, in the main anime canon(19th movie), Magearna is SORTA Kalosian...
SORTA because you see, in that canon it was made by Nikola, inventor
who built the Azoth Kingdom, a microstate somewhere in Kalos.
So... yep, Magearna was probably meant for Kalos.
