Making in-game time not run off the system clock

Hey I was wondering if it's possible to set an on going ingame time. For example like the current time system that follows your computer but say a person changes the time on their computer it won't change in the game. It'll just keep going. Kind of like a server time for an MMO.

It is not possible for a game to know how much time has passed while it was closed, not unless you want it to connect to some time-keeping site online. Your only options are to use the system time, or to use a time system which depends on how long the game has been running for.

The only way to bypass people spamming the lottery minigame (for instance) by changing their system clock repeatedly is to require an online connection to see what the actual uninterfered-with time is (and then to use that somehow). And that's too much hassle, frankly. If someone wants to waste their time changing the system clock to do something in their single-player game that won't affect anyone else in the slightest, I say they're welcome to be that uninspired.
