Male or Female Protagonist?

Choose the female, mainly because I am a girl but I also think she looks pretty cool...besides those hanging pockets or whatever those things are on her shorts :S

Some males choose to play as females, though.

However, the point is just a fun poll, asking users what they're going to do in the lead up to the games. It isn't serious or anything.

huh really? I asked alot of my guy friends if they've played as the female protagonist before and they're like "no, I'm a guy I'm not gay or anything." Like somehow choosing the female character questions their masculinity or something. Before R/S/E, we girls had no choice but to play as a boy. I say they should bring back the "one gender no way to choose MC" except this time you're forced to be a girl... :cheeky:

I'm going to play as the male, however i like both designs. If i get another version or something i'll play as the girl.

The girl is the best design in the series, because she's not damn pigeon toed, and the boy is much better that everyone since Red (who is the quintessential Pokemon trainer).

I'll most likely pick the girl character. I want to use girls for a change; plus, I'm saving the guy for the third version.

I...dunno. I think it just depends on your feelings towards characters on a game (if that makes sense). I know that there are some males on PC though, who do play as girls, for favous reasons (that aren't twisted, or aren't implying what their sexuality actually is).

Yeaaaaah everyone should play as girls. :D
Especially since the girl is losing on the poll, saaaad.

I chose the girl.
The girl for once actually looks like she's prepared for journeying in the Pokemon world. All the girls prior to her look so frail, but our B/W girl is wearing mountain boots, she's not wearing a flimsy skirt, and for once, our female protagonist isn't pigeon-toed.

The guy's design is just so repetitive. We've seen it a million times, he quite honestly looks just like Lucas, but with a different hat and a scarf. >_>;

And as for the, 'you must pick the character who is your own gender' debate, I don't think that is true at all. I always go for the character with the better design, and whenever I replay the games I like to go for gender that I didn't use previously, just because It's so bland having to look at the same overworld sprite repeatedly.

I love the female! I cosplay her now

Not the greatest picture, but I was rushing...and I didn't have time to take better photos because I got sick that day..lol

In addition to this, it all depends on on their thoughts on both, which one they prefer and which one suits them no matter male or female. It really doesn't matter since it's just a game character, so I see no reason for people to think it's too awkward to pick the female protagonist if they are a male. :(

Girls rule, boys drool. :]

I've seen people starting to dress up as the protagonists and I must say, that's cute. :) It's amazing how creative people get with the cosplay for Black and White.

I'm playing the female this time around. I've played both genders on previous games before, but since HG/SS I've been unhappy with the character designs. So for B&W I'm exclusively playing the female protagonist.

I think Male player character looks ten times better than female one.
I'll start with the male protagonist for the first time even though I'm a chick.

I really didn't want to initially for obvious reasons(the shorts), but I like her design better than I like the males. I can just picture myself with her as a character a lot better than I can with the male protagonist.

I just realized that the shorts are an over exaggerated look of short shorts with tears or wholes in them on purpose.

Do you think that they use the shorts in that way to make it more appealing to certain genders then, Boarbeque? If the shorts were designed differently, I wonder, would have less people have chosen the female, or more?

I just know that they designed most of the characters and pokemon in the game off of Americans. They studied how we dressed.

Some people may deny it, but a lot of girls wear shorts like the female player. I know that I dress almost exactly alike to the boy player, which was the reason I chose him in the first place. I have also seen girls with crazy hair like that too. I live in the northwestern parts of America, so what I think is natural may be unnatural to everyone else.

So yeah, I do think they tried to make it more appealing to females.

Well, similar shorts in the U.S. do tend to be prevalent in some clothing styles. And Black's/Touya's appearance does seem to be reminiscent of clothings of some boys - something fitting for an adventure.

I just love how they added nicely designed spikes on White's/Touko's shorts for good measure, though. Shorts were nice enough, but "threatening" shorts are even better. I mean, everything's better when spikes are thrown in the mix! :D

The female's hair is sort of weird.
On the other hand the male is the best one so far imo.
that is all.
