Rayquaza - nice looking map. Not sure about the red leaf path bit, I mean there's no other red trees or anything at all :P.

It's also pretty bottom-heavy with regards to trainers.

Gotta disagree with the Zorua here. It might be the tiles, but I'm not fond of the way the waterfalls are looking here. I don't like the amount of rocks in the water too, it seems way too cluttered, I think the map would look much better without them. There's an awful lot of space wasted on the lower half of the map, look up on Worldslayer's tutorial to add some flow to your maps. Oh and you used the stair tiles wrong, now it's like they are painted on the walls. The pathways in between of the stairs are too narrow as well, which seems a bit weird, compared to the rest of the map.

I do agree with Zorua on the red leaf path, it makes no sense at all, and it doesn't look good, so don't try to use that as an excuse!:p I'm no fan of the sandy hills too, they'd look better covered in grass if you'd ask me.

Speaking of grass, you went a bit overboard with the tall grass on the lower half. I'd suggest having more, but smaller patches of grass than the three big ones you got now.

This map needs quite a bit of work, but I'm fairly sure that you're able to turn it into something nice.

Keep practicing!

A forest-training area titled "Maplelake Forest". There will be an event above that cliff that the player needs to access to progress with the gym.

What is wrong with the waterfalls? I see nothing wrong with them. I've been over those tutorials enough times. Just saying to look over a tutorial is in no-way helpful, mapping will always be down to preference of style and a whole load of trial & error until you get to a map that's you're happy with. I'm also not understanding the problem with the stairs, but the red path isn't a leaf path, it's a stone path and I'm not using it because it 'looks good'.

He means the stairs are too steep, and need to be extended 1 tile out, while the waterfall looks awkward because it falls onto the edges below, but doesnt cover them for some reason, and it looks as if it comes from under the ledges, then falls on top of the ones below it

Some of these Tiles are selfmade, most colors of the tileset as well. Hope you enjoy it!

I really like your mapping style. I can't see anything wrong with it, nor can I add anything to it.

Here is the current standing of Ponario. Not completely finished, but not sure what else to do.
Spoiler:

Also, just notice that I forgot to cut off the bottom trees a bit.

I'd rather not. Movement in Evoas is freer, and not bounded to a grid. If the buildings were smaller, precise actions like entering buildings would be needlessly tricky.

But doors are like twice the size of people?

They can;t even reach doorknobs. :l

Love this map, I think I said it before, but your style reminds me abit of mine. The only thing I can point out is that it is quite eaay to avoid the majority of the tall grass, but you might already be aware of this.
Anyway, keep up the good work! !

Haven't posted here in a while, but in celebration of the recent demo release of Pokémon: Legends of the Arena I thought I'd post one of my favourite maps, a desert route:

Spoiler:

In the game there's a sandstorm blowing across the screen at all times, making it look like this:

@waxkyturtle: looks really good, I don't have much to comment on. The only thing I'd change about it is the colour of the boulders to match with the rest of the walls.
Keep up the good work!

The first route from my game, Pokemon Opal Version

Which direction are you going? if you are going left to right, it's... mediocre.

I can't put my finger on it, but something seems off... Perhaps you should add more trees to open areas?

Thanks for the input! It was one of the first maps I did for the game, so it automatically needs improvement. Here's the revised version.

It's much better, but that one part of the path on the right-half just seems unnecessary. You don't even have to take it! I would thicken the trees and cut off that gap, perhaps even adding tall grass on the required path.

I revised it once more. Here it is. Is it better? Worse?
