    It's that time of year again. Time for several weeks of tournaments! To celebrate the release of X and Y, this tournament will be using one of the new battle styles released, Multi battles! This is a standard Griff and Necrum-style tournament so any veterans should be familiar with the kookiness by now. Read ALL the rules so you know what's going on. If you have questions, feel free to contact me. Ow, no poking!

    Rules:
    1. This is a gen 6 wi-fi tourney. You must have a copy of X or Y in order to participate.
    2. No hacking is allowed. Any participant caught hacking will have his/her TEAM disqualified.
    3. You may not discuss someone else's team either on a public thread or in VMs/PMs.
    4. You may drop out at any time. Be aware that if you drop out, your partner will be forced to drop out as well. Also, this may affect the final prizes.​

    Sign-up and updating rules:
    1. Both you and your partner must sign up and include who you are partnering with in your post. If you do not sign up with a partner, I'll put you in a general sign-up list. If you do not find a partner 10 days before the tourney starts, I will randomly assign partners within the list.
    2. Discuss with your partner who will do the updates. That person will do his/her team's updates throughout the entire tournament.
    3. When signing up, include your Friend Code and your in-game name.
    4. When updating, state which team won and lost. BOTH TEAMS MUST UPDATE IN ORDER FOR THEIR SCORE TO COUNT. (You may want to save your battle, in case your opponents decide not to update. In that case, send the video to me and I will confirm it.)​

    Tournament-specific rules:
    1. Sign-ups are open immediately and does not close until December 13th.
    2. Tournament commences on December 14th.
    3. Each round must be completed within 3 days of the pairings being announced (might be changed). If you feel you cannot complete your match within the time limit, please do not sign up.
    4. The tournament will be in a swiss format. Losing once does not mean you've been booted out of the tournament. Just do your best in the next round! We will have 5 rounds.
    5. The battle format is doubles, flat rules. This means all cover and event legendaries are banned. Mewtwo and Zygarde are also banned. This also means the item clause is in effect (no two Pokemon on YOUR OWN TEAM may hold the same item).
    6. The battles will be best out of 3.​

    2nd place: 2 IV bred Pokemon of your choice
    3rd place: 1 IV bred Pokemon of your choice​

    I'm going to see if I can get a good team mate for this in time. But I have a question, are there any rules for communication? Does voice chat have to be on or off, is skype or instant messaging allowed, etc.
     
    No, there's no rules for communication. It's pretty much inevitable that there'll be colluding going on. Since you're doing it while building teams and strategies, well, if anything I can't stop anyone from talking to each other. Especially since there's at least one RL pairing registered.
