Almost everyone knows about World of Warcraft, a famous MMORPG, or CounterStrike, a great MMOFPS. However, there are a lot of other great online games out there that many people play. Feel free to discuss and recommend games you found enjoyable.

    ----------

One of my favorite online games is Gunz: The Duel. It takes up very little space but is still very fun. Another favorite of mine is Gunbound, because it's a game in which you actually have to think before making a move.

I've been playing World of Warcraft for a little over a year now. My first mmo was Star Wars Galaxies but that was when I was like...10 and I didn't understand half of it.

My WoWing is currently on hiatus, since I'm kinda busy with getting ready to go to university :/
The road to 70 was fun.

Well, i played Runescape (LOL) for like 2 years.. then i sold my account. Went on Soldier Front (Ijji) For ages.. Then i bought Guild wars.. Wow what an amazing game. So completed all 4. Then i got a ps3 xP COD4 FTW! :D

Team Fortress 2, for MMOFPS. Simply superb team gameplay. They get the classes all right. Highly recommended.

Has anyone tried Drift City on Ijji yet? Looks very entertaining from vids and screens, and I am a fan of racing games.

My friend is always going on about drift city. I haven't played it my self but have been told its realy good.

I play Gunbound a lot. It is my favourite one. I used to play the world version but now I only play the european one.

I have played Runescape. I hate it. I think its highlky boring.

Other MMO's I have played are Knight online, which was my favourite till I could never sign in because the servers were full.

Hero Online. This is a good game and I stil play it every now and then.

Corum online, which reminds me of Zelda: Wind Waker because of the graphics. It has some bad camera angles and not good hotkeys.

There are more I have pllayed more but is end of lesson in school so can't add more. May edit.

I've played both Corum and Runescape, and I agree with the statememnts you made about them. Actually, I think Corum was an all around bad game.

Another MMORPG I've played is Maplestory (oooh, bet you never heard of that one) and it's pretty fun at first. But when you get to the mid-levels and up, (Lvl40) leveling up becomes OBSCENELY hard and time consuming. I have friends with characters in the 70s that take days to level up once.

An MMORPG that I recommend to all is Tales of Pirates. There's a great community, the worlds not too big or not too small, and leveling is fair (up to level 65 or so, but it'll take time to get that high).

I play City of Heroes / City of Villains (all for $15 a mo.) Well, I played up until 2 weeks ago when I got really busy with school ^^. Anyway it is a superhero / villain MMO, though you don't need to wear capes or dress fancy and such. It also has a lot of sci-fi parts, and aliens too.

I like it because there are maybe millions of different costume options, you do NOT need a Tank or Healer for almost anything in the game (so you don't need to wait to look for one), debuffs and buffs actually have very sizable effect, and last, but not least, a level 1 can artificially become a level 49 when paired with a level 50 (with less skills than the 50) when they are teamed, or the level 50 can artificially become a level 1. Most of the rewards you get would be according to your own level, except higher level guys that are artifically lowered get no exp, but more $$. Of course, I was giving an extreme example, what I meant was this allows you to easily play with anyone on any character XD.

Counterstirke and TF2 are NOT MMOs. Planetside is an MMOFPS.... grrrrr

I guess every online game is an MMO then, by your logic XD

I played world of warcraft for 2 and a half years, as my first ever MMO, decided to quit though when they announced the new expansion pack ....

Yeh that's the only MMO I've ever really played, though dunno if anyone has seen Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, but it looks VERY good. Especially if you like the whole lore aspect in MMOs, as they have really payed attention to that, makes the WoW Lore look pooooor.

My friend plays Final Fantasy XI a lot and I used to, but once you get to lvl 10 it goes downhill.

    Oooh, I play that game.

Or rather, OdinMS. It's a MapleStory private server with active GMs, 8x exp, and 8x drop rate. Check it out some time. Still in beta, though.

Any good MMOs that are more strategy/tactical based? All of them are just grindfests atm sadly.

    Command and Conquer-Tiberium

Since EA bought Red Alert/C&C, the games been losing their touch. Expecially with C&C3. Tried it, isn't as fun as the originals. Then again, they ARE the originals.

LOL, the only MMORPG I've ever played was MapleStory, and it sucked. XDD I'm not big on MMORPGs, to be honest. :/

I played MapleStory...and it sucked too! xD

But I really got into the mecha/fighting games; Space Cowboy and Rumble Fighter to name a few. SC is huuuuuge though, and Rumble's only available in America/Canada so when I moved back I couldn't play it anymore. :C

Console gaming is where it's at. -nods-
