Name: Solan Lunaer
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Nickname: Sol & Lune
Snake Species: Dispholidus typus, the Boomslang. The DNA has given him black rings just around his eyes and covering his eyelids. It looks like makeup, but it's actually very useful when it comes down to facing bright light. His canines are also extremely sharp and almost long enough to pierce into his lower gums, but they also have a groove in the back that allows Solan to inject his venom if he ever bites someone. The venom is hemotoxic; it disables the victim's ability to clot their blood, alongside causing organ degeneration and general tissue damage, resulting in death through internal bleeding among other issues. Symptoms typically won't show for hours, leaving someone to underestimate the seriousness of the venom as just a headache or nausea. The victim can outright drop up to two days later, even if they're feeling perfectly fine. Though, in a non-lethal dose, the venom can still cause short-term intense pain, swelling and necrosis around the bite area.
Powers: Solan is able to split himself into two separate halves: Yin and Yang, both of them capable of their own contrasting abilities and personalities, as well as having linked minds that can reach each other no matter the distance. Yin, called Sol, has geokinetic abilities, being able to control earthly matter. Yang, a.k.a. Lune, has aerokinetic powers, controlling the air and being able to fly around without wings due to this. Both of them are capable of tracking things that interact with their respective environments, making them excellent hunters. The problem with Solan's Yin-Yang splitting is that, after spending so long without figuring out how to pull himself back together, Sol and Lune alike gave up on trying. The only power Solan can use without splitting is his enhanced reflexes.
Appearance: Lune is tall, about five-eight, with jet-black hair down to his shoulders. His body's built for athletics, like a basketball player, but he wears clothes that conceal this such as large flannel shirts and cargo pants. Around his emerald eyes are the black rings that normally surround the edges of the Boomslang's scales, which only add to the irises' green coloring more. Despite everything managing to not make a single definite style (and frankly looking a little strange), Lune enjoys the look.
Sol, the Yin half of Solan Lunaer, is actually female, and stands at five-two. Opposite Lune, Sol's white-as-snow hair lays down between her shoulderblades and waist, turning from straight to loosely wavy a couple inches from the ends. With a slender figure, Sol does little to not accentuate it by wearing form-fitting T-shirts and skirts or shorts, as well as crew-length socks and skater shoes. She has the same black rings around her eyes as Lune does, but her irises are a bright blue with a faded grayish ring around the outside.
Personality: Contrary to their appearances, Lune is actually the positive one. He's Solan's idealism, social and moral self, and his more positive self. Lune is the logical foundation of the two's linked thoughts, coming up with the base for many things the pair does, and will stand up for himself and others alike. He manages to be afraid of nothing, being more than willing to get into a fight if the intentions are good. However, he's also somewhat desensitized to his emotions, his rational thoughts being more dominant.
Sol is the quieter, introverted and sensitive half of Solan. She's independent and creative, the one that lets her mind wander and come up with half-baked ideas, using Lune's reason to finalize them into something tangible. She tends to draw in her free time, but tries not to let anyone see, and enjoys the comfort of being alone. Sol is the more elegant and (not to mention deceptively violent) fluid half, in contrast to Lune's solidity.
Strengths: Lune is a logical person, and resistant to making outbursts of any kind. Sol is extremely imaginative, and can put her thoughts into highly detailed drawings.
Shortcomings: Solan as a whole is difficult to define, at many times shifting between Sol and Lune in his personality. Lune can be apathetic at times, showing little to no emotion whenever he's in deep thought, somewhat like a trance. Meanwhile, Sol suffers constant imagination, and can visualize anything she hears. If it involves particular people, she can imagine the audio, too.
Likes: Music and drawing in Sol's case, and Lune enjoys activity and being involved in things.
Dislikes: Solan only hates two things: A jerk without rhyme or reason, and anyone that dislikes visual art forms. Everything else he tries to tolerate, and both Sol and Lune do the same.
History: Since his birth, Solan Lunaer has been plagued by having a split personality, sometimes becoming the total opposite of what he'd normally do with no explanation. With the many things the School "offered" to special kids, Solan's parents couldn't pass it up. They couldn't keep their son's personality swapping in check by the time he was eight, so they sent him in. He was to be the first one tested with Dipholidus typus DNA, and the merge was otherwise a complete success. Within a few weeks, his canines grew and carved a groove in the backs, and black rings appeared around his eyes. Venom sacs popped in as small pouches in his nasal cavity, directly funneled to the grooves in his teeth. Around the time he turned thirteen, after five powerless years of training, his abilities started to show.
But it was only one thing: Solan split himself into two different people, with distinct attitudes and abilities of their own. Both of them had the same snake features, though. The girl, who they decided to name Sol, could control the earth, and had a better use for it to protect herself and assist her opposite. The opposite in question, Lune, was a boy that controlled the air, and had a more offensive style to him. He was able to use Sol's geokinetic powers to solidify his attacks and bring down mutants in training much faster. In the meantime, Solan, his mind stuck between the two, tried multiple methods to fusing his two halves back together. One of them in particular, running into each other, was tried and tried again in various painful and awkward positions. After a while, he'd just given up.
When the Gen-127 broke out, Sol and Lune were assigned with each other as a duo, using their connected thoughts for multiple effective capturing methods. Sol and Lune combined are currently accounted for roughly 25% of the Scarers' captures and re-captures.
Other: Solan temporarily returns to normal when Sol and Lune use their powers in perfect sync, only to be split again if he decides to use one of their powers.
RP Sample: Do I really need to put up a third?
