Issue: McSloooooow

Yeah, the slooooooooooowpoke theme + McPadding together don't go. In fact, even on themes like New Directions and stuff, McPadding is far too squashed. But it's extreme in sloooooooopoke:

Spoiler:

My monitor size is 1024x768 so I'm probably going to be getanewmonitor'd, but it's a pain regardless. :/

Hey cool, there's my profile.
Anyway, the way I see it, if you have a small resolution, you should avoid using fixed width themes. Mcpadding is going to get even more squashed if you have a small resolution and are using a really thin style. If it concerns you it's best that you use a theme which fits everything as best as possible and which has a fluid width.

Personally I use vB default as it has no gimmicks and it's a full width theme that works across the board.

Audy might have to implement it, but if it annoys you a great deal just click "Hide User Customizations" when you've clicked "View Conversation" with a given contact. You could also zoom out with ctrl + -. But I would support the option if some people have issues, not everyone has a large resolution.

This is why tricks like McPadding shouldn't be supported on here...because they're workarounds and they aren't tested on all styles, ect...

Uh Pachy, you can't always make things that fit everything perfectly. You need to think about other browsers, resolutions, chosen styles, regardless of what you do, unless you pick default, you run the risk of not styling your profile in a way that suits everyone. It's not a "trick" either. Mcpadding looks fine on my computer and I have an average screen resolution.

if your profile css (or any css used on the site, i.e. post, blog, etc.) breaks the theme templates (any theme) then it is NOT allowed technically.

That said, if it bothers you too much or breaks any theme you try, you can a) disable it as stated above or b) report it to have an staff member look at it and take appropriate action.

still you enter the values at user level.. my statement still stands.

My question is, was McPadding even an option originally included in vB? I don't think it was...I suspect an admin had to add it, in which case they might should try to see about fixing the code or stop it from breaking the template.

No, Audy added it the other day when I asked for shadow css on profiles, he didn't feel like doing that so instead he just made McPadding and McBorders - Siggy being the one that named them.

And as a result, we have McPadding now. For it to be "fixed" would break a lot of profiles that are designed specifically TO McPadding.

Well, that's their problem. That is the hazard of being an early adopter of things like this. I really think it needs fixing personally. I totally think McPadding is so gauche and ugly anyway
