News: Meet the Alola Trial Captains!

I have been worried about the Trials for the reasons listed. That is why at the start I didn't accept them, but now I do. Not its just a matter if they do them right.

I think it will be based on the person, although the dancing seems out of place for Kiawe. I know people say the Japanese site says there is more than 4 captains, including me going off what others said, but I am not too sure. It says in additon to the 4 captains and then ends. At least according to the translator. Then it lists totem pokemon and Kahunas. No where does it actually say there is more than 4 captains. But that has to be the case for me. Which is why I am believe the people who say the Japanese site says there are more than 4. But I wish I could just find confirmation on it.

It is possible that these are the only 4 captains and they kinda just travel with us to do the trials, but that seems out of place. It may not be that because Mallow says 'This is her trial grounds the Lush Jungle.'

Perhaps some will involve visiting specific Towns and talking to certain NPCs in order to obtain some information. I'm pretty sure it won't just be finding items for each Trial Captain, that would just become too tedious.

16 bosses for 16 different types? I'd like that! It seems pretty obvious that the Trial Captains will specialise in a specific type, that brings up the question as to whether the Kahunas will take up the remaining unused types? That would be a similar concept to the Gym Leader situation which I'd be perfectly fine with. It would almost be like having more than 8 Gym Leaders in a sense.

I would love if the Kahunas didn't use Monotype teams, it would make the games more challenging. We already know that Hala uses Tapu Koko which means either he has an Electric or Fairy team, or maybe the Tapu's are their wild cards.

That being said do you think the trial captains will have more of a presence in the story? Since we can see Hala fighting UB-02 Absorption it seems pretty likely that the Kahunas will have a big role in the climax of the games (or maybe just Hala cause he's cool like that). I can't see the Trial captains fighting those terrifying and powerful creatures, but I think they might pop up many times when you're doing the challenge and they might even help you against Team Skull as well (I believe there was a shot of Team Skull taking over Lush Jungle or something?). It seems like the characters in this game are going to be well developed and that makes me happy, after only like two gym leaders in XY doing anything other than just standing in one spot.

I believe in the recent Japanese trailer (the Type: Null reveal) Hala has a Crabrawler around lvl 15 or so (it seems we fight Hala pretty early on). I'm sure GF won't let us fight Tapu Koko at lvl 15, but we still can't sure if Kahunas only uses Monotype teams, since Hala may use Fighting-type only paired with Tapu Koko, but he might also not.
