[Spoilers] Mega Volt - New Japanese XY Opening

Remember Korrina has Mienfoo and Machoke as well, guys! Since Ash is getting Hawlucha there's no real reason to let it feature in Korrina's team as opposed to Mienfoo, which hasn't actually gotten much screentime and hasn't been used by a gym leader before. However, if they were to actually change up the Pokémon the game tells us she has, I could see her using a Meditite/Medicham or Makuhita/Hariyama for some Hoenn focus. Those two have been used by gym leaders in a significant capacity before, but it's not like there would be that mildly irritating signature Pokémon overlap (she already shares that with Maylene really if we're counting it to be Lucario.

That brings up an interesting point though- disregarding Lucario, Korrina's actual signature Pokémon is Hawlucha. So what are they doing giving it to Ash? I don't think there's ever been that overlap before has there?
 
I legitimately forgot about Mienfoo and Machoke (perhaps it's time for me to go play the game again ahahah). But yeah if she has those and intend on using Lucario then she would have four Pokemon while Ash currently only has three. In a way perhaps that is why they're giving Ash what is supposed to be her signature Pokemon. But I don't remember there ever being a overlap like that with Ash and a Gym Leader having the same Pokemon.

Of course, this isn't considering the fact that they might give her a Pokemon she doesn't currently have. A Medicham would fit her nicely. And if she does use Hawlucha well... that'll be interesting to see.
 
See I just don't see her using Hawlucha. It's kind of sad because it really is her signature Pokémon, but I just don't think it would strike the same chord as the other species vs species battles that have happened. Ash would catch it and end up challenging Korrina very soon after, probably- that's not quite enough time for it to grow into its personality and have people rooting for it in a semi-high-stakes match against one of its own kind.

The battles in the anime openings are rarely that exciting and really, the openings only give us an idea of the pokemon and character who will be in the current season. As much as they have beefed up the gym leaders in the anime, using ice beam, draco meteor and other high level moves, I am about 90% sure she will use Lucario.

Also, Ash and Trip were the same in the battles against Alder. Alder let both of them get hits in and then he Koed both pokemon.

I was finally able to watch the Mega Evo Special, and I didn't know it mention Ash. Not to mention that all the main characters so far that have charizard, have the X version of it.

I am not sure if this goes here, but maybe Ash will get Mega Charizard Y after all. That is just an idea. Now it would be very very epic to eventually see both Mega Charizards battling one another.

I say this here, because Charizard Y is also in the trailer, although it is not show to be Ash's. It could still be.

Accept , Hawlchua is the only Gen VI pokemon Korrina has .
A Gen VI Gym-leader with no Gen VI Pokemon , that sound unlikely.
 
Not trying to be smart or anything.. this is the sped up version of the song thats why it sounds weird and not upbeat... lol but loving it the animation is so cool
 
That's really weird tbh. I wonder why there are so many versions floating around that are inexplicably sped up by 7.5%? Did Get TV air that version or something? idk. You're right tho, the one in episode 28 is noticeably slower. Still kinda lost that upbeat and energetic vibe I got from the original tho.

Unless her Gen VI is Mega Lucario instead. I know people don't like the idea, but to the creators of the anime and game, the Megas are new pokemon. But I see what you mean. But it does pretty much show that the Hawlucha is Ash's.

Maybe she will have a Shiny Hawlucha. Kinda like how the 6th gym in the Hoenn Anime had a Shiny Swellow. Which I wouldn't be very surprised because Kalos is a lot like Hoenn.
 
I was wondering why it sounded different in the youtube video than on the episode that I had on my computer. Overall yeah Volt is better than Megavolt though I really like the animation still.

her Gen VI can be Mega Lucario. They can give her a different fighting type if they want her to have a Gen VI (like perhaps Pangoro or ... yeah Pangoro since that is legit the only other fighting wow). A shiny Hawlucha could be a thing too (though it still falls into the whole thing Anna said earlier about it being too early for a Hawlucha vs Hawlucha battle).
 
Nothin' to do with the discussion we were having, but... I really feel like Shauna could be Ash's rival/mentee this season. I mean, they've given her a Charmander which a) Ash has owned previously and b) is the type weak to Ash's Kalos starter (Serena took Fennekin so they wouldn't have overlapped but Shauna still has the type weak to the protagonist). Like, if I were just pairing Kanto starters to those three trainers I def would have given Squirtle to Shauna, Bulbasaur to Trevor, and Charmander to Tierno. I just would think Squirtle is more her style. But yeah I really really want to see her be Ash's rival. (ﾉ´ヮ´)ﾉ*:･
 
The opening also show that the ''Evil Malamar'' won't be appearing for a long time . (Depending on it ever appearing)
I guess we have a long time to know Malamar's plan.

Well , Then the outcome of Shalour Gym will be obvious.
It would be a ''Tie'' because the Director/writer wouldn't let their previous Mega Lucario be beaten by a mare Froakie Or Pikachu .
Honestly , I don't I can handle another repeat of Maylane's gym.
Unless Shalour Gym ark end up as the longest gym ark where Ash learn about Megevolution , Prove himself worthy to get a mega ring , find a Mega stone , catch a Pokemon capable of megevolution , Bond close enough to megevolve it and then goes to challenge Korrina.
Honestly , I'm worried about Ash getting Megevolution since he didn't get a Lucario.
Because Megevolution need strong Bond similar to what Ash has with Pikachu So forming that close bond with a newly caught Pokemon Soon is seem too unlikely.
And there's no way Ash will bring his old Pokemon back from Kanto until he reach the Kalo league.
Lucario made sense because of Aura .
I mean , You don't expect Ash to catch an Abomasnow and megevolve it right away.
 
Doesn't Shauna get a Bulbasaur (which is weird since her background color is orange so you would think she's getting Charmander. But they swapped her and Trevor for some reason). Either way I still completely agree about Ash and Shauna being rivals because that would be amazing. In general though I just want those three to bring more life to this series (not saying it doesn't already have life because for the most part I have really been enjoying it).

I still wouldn't continue to think and think that it's going to be a repeat of Maylene's battle yet. And Ash is the type of person that it doesn't matter how powerful the Pokemon is he'll find some way around it and beat it without having to match up to the level. In this case, he'll fight and probably beat Lucario with just one of his other Pokemon without having to mega evolve. It's not like it's the first time it's happened: he's fought and defeated an Articuno, and while it took several Pokemon to do it and don't forget Darkrai either.
 
What about Mega Pikachu? Pikachu has had a lot of special treatment, and in the anime, when they speak of bonds, Ash always looks at Pikachu. Not to mention that there was an interview in October, that is on Baulbapedia suggesting that it is not impossible for Pikachu to get a Mega even though it is usually only for pokemon who are fully evolved. This is just speculation, I am not saying it isn't possible, because it is possible because we are talking about Pikachu.

lol u right im dumb but wow honestly that's the last thing I'd give Shauna?? Bulbasaur would much better match Trevor's implied strategicness. But I suppose that actually does put her in a better position to be the traditional rival, having the type advantage to Ash's Froakie.

Gross I really hope that's not a thing ever. :/ Pika's already got such preferential treatment; it doesn't need another edge. Honestly Raichu's generally ignored in favor of Pikachu; giving Rai a mega might work because of that.
 
It's safe to say I really dislike what they did to the song but the scenes are just amazing. Korrina, Diantha, mega-evolved Pokemon, TIERNO TREVOR AND SHAUNA and etc make up for it. And hey, more Hawlucha! Yes yes yes. Not sure why Shauna got Bulbasaur and Trevor got Charmander but.. maybe when I see them together in the series with their Pokemon I'll get more used to it.

I though something was up when I realized that there were so many versions of this video with the sound muted. The one in the OP is still intact exactly because it's sped up, so it's no longer the original, unaltered audio. After listening to the one on vimeo, well, I still like the original Volt a lot more than the remix, but at least now it sounds okay, the squeaky voice was really annoying in the sped up version {XD}
