Mekakucity Actors

Spoiler:

It's just that I don't want to see my favorite series of songs of three years adapted into some anime with tons of missing parts, you know? T.T

To be fair, Jin has said before that that's why KagePro is a multimedia project. He literally wants to tell different parts of the story, and different viewpoints, through the various forms of media. The anime seems to mix the manga with the songs, but also adds in new things. The manga tells the main, current storyline that makes the most sense. The songs metaphorically tell various character stories, and sing of the plotline that the manga / anime choose to follow. The novels tell history and character backstories, and emotions, etc, that you can't really know about in the other versions. They all touch on different details.

To entirely understand it, you literally need to read, listen, and watch as much as you can, and I think that's kind of genius.

There's no way to watch the anime and not feel like you're being sent through a drug trip, if you haven't seen any other version.

So if anyone here is intrigued, but finds the anime hard to follow, it's meant to be that way. I'd really recommend you at least read the manga. XD

So I guess that means I need to go through the songs and the Light Novel as well? Seems like a task to me though, especially finding the songs. xDD

I still have only heard Heat Haze Daze out of all the songs of Kagepro... and Headphone Actors just because.

It's not hard to find, really. XD There's a certain order, and there are plenty of YouTube playlists that have all of them added.

The original versions are sung by a Vocaloid, buuuut I prefer the covers myself. There are a lot of cool sounding covers of the songs. -w-

As for the novels, there are people on tumblr that have chunks of those translated by chapters. There are plenty of KagePro that haven't read the novels, granted they do explain a lot of things. .w.b

A few are sung by Miku, and the rest of them by IA. Konoha's State of the World is their duet.

Episode 7: Konoha's State of the World had nothing to do with the song.

Come on, SHAFT! I thought you were doing better T~T

I decided to post after checking out the song.
And... yeah, it probably only covered the first part of the song in a small bit of the episode

I feel bad to say that I nearly cried in both the PV and the episode

I guess I'll go check out the other songs after dealing with college applications.

I'm already tired...

Maybe I'd appreciate this anime more if I didn't have the background knowledge?

After all, it's about the quality of the anime, not the quality of the adaptation.
Nope. You wouldn't.
I didn't appreciate anime (aside from HanaKana, because HanaKana was the only reason I decided to watch this) 'till I've seen everything else =)

I had no clue what this anime was about before, during, and mostly still after watching it :v. The only thing I knew beforehand was the characters/art style looked cool. It kind of reminds me of Durarara!! where each episode focuses on a different character and all these seemingly small things build up like puzzle pieces and form a big picture later on. I like it so far (:

What, really? It's not actually Lost Time Memory?

Dang, I want to know... I'll go watch the episode now.

Side note: I already checked out most of the songs by now

Oh my goodness! Ever since I read the Kagerou Days manga it was incredible! I really love it on how the plot has a twist for each character. Since watching both of their music and anime, it's quite surprising that the design kinda change a bit but the story suit it well. What episode are you on? I'm on episode 6, Headphone Actor, my gosh that was an episode! x3

Episode 6 was probably the only decent best episode of this series.

But yes, the songs are great, and the manga is quite a snack! :D

The current episode is Episode 8: Lost Time Memory.

But there wasn't any mention of a time loop.
Not even a mention of time.

:(

Wow, I guess I really can't count that as Lost Time Memory in my mind.

I guess the anime is basically retelling KagePro in its own way while only sneaking the stories within the songs at the beginning or the end whenever it plays in said episode.

At least, that's how I see it so far. I need to check out more material.

I didn't even get too emotional until the end of the episode, when Lost Time Memory actually started playing. xD And I was fully prepared all week long to be entirely emotionally destroyed, but they made the episode pretty unique.

Also hoping that Ene and Seto being with Kano is going to tie in to referencing Yobanashi Deceive, buuuut idk.
