I think because maybe those days many members used to be online a lot but now many have left PC!
Wow I really didn't know that. I can get how the age difference really changes things since we all mature both off and online as we get older. This maybe also because the internet has changed since then too. It seems it was a lot funner back then and since it was still a fairly new thing but starting to get old, not a lot of people knew how to speak online. Just a theory haha. Though I don't think getting older means not having fun. People of all ages should have fun. Being in your 20s doesn't mean you're no longer a fun person either, just mean you're more mature and your idea of fun may be different. There were many more members on Pokémon community then now, and I mean a lot more. 2005 was the best time in PC, I don't know after 2006, since I left in March of that year. Many friendly people, but I was called odd because some of my English don't make sense back then. Also it was a lot more fun back then too. If I remembered correctly, the majority of the members on Pokémon Community at the time was either teenagers or pre-teens. Not many members above 17 in 2005, but average age range was 11-17 years old. I only knew one person in 2005 that was in their 20's out of the many members I talked with. Another thing is 2005 was the first time I was in a forum in my life. Internet was a new thing for me at the time.
Things changed a lot, I'm seeing a lot of newer members that are in their 20's and many new members above 18. We 2005 people or earlier were pre-teens/teens back teen are obviously now adults, so the average age range here seems to be higher now.

Maybe it's also cause of how much Pokemon has changed since then. There's more topics on old Pokemon vs new Pokemon. There's more people who think the new Pokemon is stupid and that the old games are better. There's also more people who think all Pokemon games are awesome (me included but I don't want to start an argument here if someone thinks otherwise. Not the place for that.) Just random thoughts though.
I think that the overall friendliness on here is still about the same though.
This is an obvious assumption, but definitely true. As people get older, they have more responsibilities and may no longer have time for forums like PC. People got jobs, went to college, and some may even got married and had kids and can't have time to be on the internet as much.
I remember having to copy down the entire picture URL on paper and then type it just to put post in on the forum or as my avatar. Now it's just the browse button. Internet definitely much simpler and easier.
Wow really? That's insane. I was involved in a few forums in 2005, but I don't remember if I ever had to do that, but I think I did. Probably haha. I remember having to write urls and password codes and other codes on sites down all the time.
While I personally like both new and old Pokemon (again not gonna start an argument on here, not the right section) , I definitely notice more fans who don't like newer Pokemon but also more fans who do love the newer Pokemon and there's really a big gen war going on between fans hahaha. Some people left cause they don't have an interest in Pokemon anymore or can't stand the newer Pokemon game as much.
Then I joined, and everyone proceeded to leave. It's my fault for ending the PC golden age, slowly. :(I'm always hearing it was much different back then and that PC's community between 2005-2008 was it's best time.

No, that's just a Co-incidence! The reason that Awsquared posted above is the only reason behind it!
