    a pokémon moon adventure log!

Just got off the boat, you know, little trip from Kanto, just landed like fresh magikarp. It's your ice-cold b***h here in Aloha to have a good time chilling out and maybe turning the heat up with the specimens of the human male species . ;)

So after receiving a call from our daddy cousin, there was a cutscene of Lillie in a place that seems to be the Aether Foundation, running away with a creature that we later on discover to be Nebby the Cosmog. (Seriously? Nebby? We all make choices but... that name was a choice.) So some plot foreshadowing fed to us from the get-go, I'm hoping that the storyline doesn't let down on that aspect.

There comes another long segment of cutscenes that basically introduces us to Tapu Koko and Lillie and then the selection of starters, which frankly was a waste of time because your starter was obviously not going to reject you. What's my Rowlet going to do? Gouge my eyeballs out with its beak the moment I gently take it in my arms? I do quite like the little homage to the first episode of the Pokemon anime with the protagonist versus the Spearows as well as sighting a legendary.

Anyways we are pushed right into the whole island challenge thing because duh, what else can we do since gyms have been removed? After the festival, Mom sounded like your teenage party animal mom. Who knows if she filed for divorce in Kanto and flew over to Alola to fulfill her exotic escapades and romantic fantasies. As if the game wasn't already awkward enough, we heard Prof. Kukui and Rockruff having some really really ruff one-on-one action. How on Earth did the lines "My body is ready. Give me everything you got." pass the E ratings check????? Anyway good thing nothing turned graphic and I have to say that this is the first time the lab looks really good. I love the aquariums, the presence of pokemon, as well as a basement where the scientific stuff happens (like Kinky Kukui's experiments) and being a nosy person, I showed myself to Lillie's loft (wow she owns a Murkrow, I wonder if we'll ever battle her one day). Then came another tutorialesque sequence of events... like really, I've played this for seven generations, at least give me an option to skip the part where Kukui turns into Kukui the Explorer and asks me to spot the pokeball needed to capture Pokemon. The Trainer School was meh, I mean, yay for free EXP??? But like I said, I already know how to fight.

So fast forward to the very first trial where we battled against Ilima. Pretty straightforward and so was the challenge against the Totem Pokemon. Though I wonder how did the Team Skull grunts get in? Why's the security so terrible? And uh, why are they helping me out? It honestly weirded me out and they looked like they were relieving themselves of ants in their pants at the cavern's dens... Melemele Meadow was so pretty...and harsh with the bright yellow but oh, I do like the backdrop during battle. That Red Card user was hella annoying since half of my team took a good chunk of damage from Stealth Rock but I eventually worked through it.

The next agenda was to challenge Hala, who specialised in Fighting types. It was a breeze literally with Pikipek just pecking them all to death. The Z-Move, which looked ludicrous LOL, did like 12 measly damage and still could not turn the battle around in their favour. Got that Tauros under our service, rode it bareback around the island (Finally some speed, gosh, does anyone else feel like Alola's pretty slow in general? I guess it fits the whole tropical chill vibes of Hawaii.), exploring Ten Carat Hill which I'm still figuring out the nomenclature. Anyways we are pretty much done with the island and I probably have overlooked some minor details like TMs and hidden gems but you know, I don't think I'll regret it that much (we should be able to return back here anyways). Time to set sail!

Oh wow this boat trip has a cutscene as well. And I thought Mr Briney's was annoying. What's this? Are we going to reenact Titanic next? Should I make out with Hau? Should we sink and throw Lillie onto a door? Should we toss that irritating speck of cosmic dust overboard? How am I supposed to take in this moment???

Akala's finally in our sights and I guess this is where I sign off and take a break. Stay tuned for the next entry where I'll explore Heahea City and probably sit through more unnecessary cutscenes!

    Chill out! xoxo

Hey hey hey! Winter is in the motherfucking house!

To continue where we left off the previous save, we had just arrived at Heahea City and as expected, the people to first welcome us mention the island challenge. And it seems that now that we are on a larger island, there are more trials! I decided to do a bit of my own exploring around the city because the visuals just are fabulous. Did a little shopping, styling my gig up, you know what they always say about first impressions. Met Lillie in Tide Song Hotel, which looks pretty grand, and I like how the flower vases were designed after Spheals.

Since Rotom has been bugging me to explore Route 4, it was about time to head there what with another Team Skull sighting. Went all the way up to Paniola Ranch, which was pretty quaint and neat, then somehow got ourselves tricked into challenging Lana's trial which was a pushover LOL. I spent time catching every new pokemon in Brooklet Hill but the dang Feebas still eluded me. Oh well, I'll come back another time if I have the patience. (Or maybe I should try the QR Scanner. Does it work? Lemme know in the commments.) Now y'all, I haven't quite made my mind up on my water type. Dewpider looks adorable and apparently its ability is just sick'ning. Wishiwashi in School form is a leviathan and just looks badass. By the time I went to Wela Volcano Park, however, I settled on Dewpider. Speaking of volcano parks, Kiawe's trial was an honest joke. I was just like "Really?" A memory game? The battles were challenging but... Did they run out of ideas or something? All these dancing and my eyes could only focus on Kiawe's hot-as-a-barbecue-pit abs XD I don't mind dancing with him all night ;P

So after the Trial, I decided to add a new member to my posse, who happened to have a 12.5% chance of showing up. And she sure did show up and burned the walkways.

It's been quite a hot day so now's a good time to save before proceeding onto the next Trial which as the name Mallow implies, is a Grass type. Detox should definitely have that one in the bag. In any case... see ya later. Winkyface.

    Chill out! xoxo

RIP so I forgot to update this LOL

I just beat the game and became Alola's "first ever" Champion (which is a lie because Daddy Prof. Kukui technically is the first one.)

I swear I'll blog more in the post-game content. I'll also probably do like a review-ish post on the worldbuilding because I have so much to say, I really love Sun and Moon.

Time to go Zygarde hunting! ;3

    Yours truly,
    Winter xoxo
