Mermaid Melody?

You're in luck, because Del Rey just released the first volume in English on April 25th! XD We've all been talking about it, lol... I just got my copy yesterday, and it is so cute! You should definitely check it out.

And yes, all of the singing does make me think of Full Moon wo Sagashite, one of my other favorite anime series. =D They both have great songs.

Anyway, this is pretty off-topic, but... I'm just curious if you've ever listened to any of the songs from Full Moon wo Sagashite, EmeraldSky? All of them are really good. The main character who sings most of them has a voice that reminds me slightly of Lina's--like it's in the same range, I guess. (I may be wrong, though. I don't know much about that stuff.)

I just bet that you would be good at singing them!
 
Yeah, I have heard of that anime--and I've done an "English" version of "Let's Sing a Song"...

I've used two Mermaid Melody songs in my new fic, "The Adventures of Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

One was 'Star Jewel", as seen here:

everyone gasps as the Rockets rise up from a platform nearby the taped X)

Yami: To protect the world from devastation...

Kage: And unite all peoples within our nation...

Yami: To denounce the evils of truth and love...

Kage: To extend our reach to the stars above...

Yami: Yami!

Kage: Kage!

Yami: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light! (we see the background of an R on a movie screen)

Kage: Surrender now, or prepare to fight.

Meowth: Meowth! Dat's right! And we have a message to da Beautiflies!

(electric guitar chord. (we see Kage, Yami, and Meowth on a stage)

Meowth: Congratulations!
You're on your way out!
From here on in, I'll be takin' da lead!

Kage: Congratulations!
You're on your way out!
I'm bound to win, I was born to succeed,

Kage, Yami, and Meowth: Congratulations to us,

(Kochou grits his teeth in anger as he listens to the song.)

Midorichou: Hit it, Kochou!

Kochou(singing over the Rockets): Close your eyes tonight and wish upon a shooting star!

Akaichou: Every promise, hope, and prayer becomes a jeweled star!

Kochou and others: and I believe deep inside my heart that fate, will lead us on... (Midorichou leads the others into a rock beat, clearly overpowering the Rockets, but the Rockets try to one up Kochou.)

Kage: Congratulations!
You gave up the crown!
You've lost the game and it's winner take all!

Kage, Yami, and Meowth: Congratulations to us,
Congratulations to us! (Congratulations)

Kochou: I've broken free from a cold wave of doubt...
Yet I don't know why I'm crying...

Yami: You don't stand a chance
Against the likes of me! (me, me, me)

Meowth: Take a backwards glance,
You'll soon be history! (history)

Kochou: And so I turn, looking away from everyone,
Silently, I vanish in the night air...

Kage, Yami and Meowth: :Congratulations!

That line's in the song called New Future, and it's one of my favorites. Love Chronicle, Smile, and Eternal Snow are also really good... All of them are, in fact!

Really? That's a neat idea. It would be nice if we could start another Mermaid Melody rp, but I don't know if it would stay very active for long... It's just fun making up stories like that.
 
I love this anime its so cute Im just getting into it and I download like 5 epsiodes from Bittorret. Luchia is my favorite character and I like the octopus too.

Hurray for Mermaid Melody! Its such a cute series! I haven't seen too much of it, but I've seen enought to know that I really like it. x3
I love the fact that they sing in it! (Its so Fullmoon-esque!)
and the characters are awesome, not to mentional its Magical Girl-ness!
