Cassidy watched Terra collapse on the ground in pain, yelling stuff she couldn't understand. Andrew and their mother had gone once more to walk around the school, so there was no one to help. She realized Terra had been going through some pretty strange changes over the last few weeks, and decided it would be best to take her to the hospital wing. Leaving her things sprawled out over the table, Cassidy hoisted her friend over her shoulder, and carried her to the hospital wing.

"Madam Pomphrey...." Cassidy said, her voice only slightly strained. She lay Terra on a bed. "I don't know what's wrong with her...but her voice has been getting kind of strange, and she's been at the lake a lot. She just collapsed in the common room, and it sounded like she was yelling at someone, but I was the only other person in the room..."

She trailed off, looking at Terra, worry creeping onto her face.

"Can you do anything for her?" she asked.

"Well, why don't you get back to what you were doing. I'll take good care of her," Madam Pomphrey assured Cassidy, patting her on the shoulder.

Cassidy returned to the common room to finish up another paper, and brought her things upstairs. She brought one of the books her mother had bought her, and read for a while...

With my peace corrupted, and Karli's stupidity still in my mind, my face grew dark, and almost evil. How could she be so stupid! She promised Flame, something she would never be able to keep! She's never going to be able to stay by my side through thick and thin. And because of that, she's in serious danger! Why didn't she think before saying anything?

Sabastian then broke through and said to me, Why should she care, what happens to you? She doesn't love you, and you know it. She has no reason to stay by your side. Yes you two might be friends, but she's never going to be that noble, when you can't be that noble to her.

Your right Sabastian, she's just throwing her life away. I agreed with Sabastian.

Right, if she doesn't love you, then you don't love her. So why should you even care what she throws her life away on? Sabastian said feeding off my anger.

But Sabastian wasn't tricking me that easily, I do love her, I don't care if she doesn't. That's why I care if she does something stupid like that. But what makes me made is the fact that she just dived right into the promise with out thinking about the consequences.

That shut Sabastian up, cause he couldn't feed any longer on my anger, it was above what he could do. But then he found a way, he then replied, If you love her, than why are you acting like this? You should be happy that she's willing to do this.

To his disgust I didn't fall for it, You filthy slim ball! Your not getting me to doubt my love for Karli! I love her, and I'd do the same thing for her, and I already have. But I knew the consequences, and I knew my love for her was strong enough to handle it. She hsa no clue what she got herself into. I replied to him, my anger for Karli turning into pity for the poor girl. I then felt helpless, I couldn't help her with this problem, if she doesn't keep the promise than she's dead, if she does, what does that mean about our relationship?

I blinked. "Were am I?" I muttered, then realized as I looked around that I was in the Hospital Wing.
Shivering, I closed my eyes, and tried to remember what had happened. Did I pass out? Most likely.
Why?
You.... Did not..... Obey....

The voice hissed, entering my mind as soon as I thought that word. I yelped as a new surge of pain entered my left arm.
Then it left again; the streak of pain leaving me as quickly as it had come, leaving only a tingling arm.
"That voice... Why... What was it?" I asked myself, rubbing my arm, and then attempting to sit up.

After eating dinner, she wandered outside, inhaling the fresh air and greeting the owls hooting on top of the trees. Feeling rather tired, Berii walked back inside and climbed the stairs leading to the common room. She walked inside the porthole and instantly jumped on the couch. She grabbed a book below the couch and read it. She hid it under the couch because she knew she was going to stay in the couch again. She sighed as she flipped the pages, wondering what will happen at the end of the story.

"....." Was all I said as Madame Pomfrey spooned something slimy down my throaght, causing me to fall back onto my pillow.
"When will I be able to get out of here?" I asked when the slimy feeling was gone...
"Oh, I suppose tommorrow afternoon, dear. Just rest right now..."
At least I won't miss the Quidditch match. That's a relief.

Cassidy looked up from Guide to Potions to see Berii had come in. She was situated on the couch, looking interested in her book.

"Hey, Berii," Cassidy called across the room. Her face was shadowed by the fire, and she thought it better that way. Despite Berii's outwardly happy persona, Cassidy knew she worried deeply for her friends. "Whatcha reading?"

"M-Madame Pomfrey, aren't you sure I can leave now-"
"No, rest."
"But I have to go finish my homework, and get ready for Quidditch, and-"
"No."
"Please? Please?"
"Absolutely not Miss Lanes!"
"Please? It'll mean so much to me..."
A sigh of defeat.
"If you're feeling up to it, yes, but please, don't put too much strain on yourself." Madame Pomfrey shook her head, and looked at me a bit worriedly.
"Erm, okay..." Saying this I tore out of the bed, with the tingly feeling still in my arm, then tore out of the room, but not before hearing her say to herself:
"But really, children screaming at invisible people?... Oh really, I do worry for that girl, first a bad fall in her first year, now these things...."
Not wanting to hear more, I hurried to the GCR.

Finally disovling my anger into sarrow, I slowly walked into the Great Hall again and sat at an empty table. I got my food and ate quietly, and my mind was lost, deep in thought about Karli. This was the first time I ever focused my mind completely on Karli and her needs.

"Hey, Cassidy." Berii greeted cheerfully, closing the book. "A book my mom gave me, it's strange though, it doesn't have a title." she said. She stood up and showed Cassidy the book. "It looks really old, too." She sat down again and placed the book on her lap.

"And you? What are doing?" she asked.

I finished my first course and found myself in the middle of my 2nd. I put my fork down and took a drink of water, than I continued eating not stop and thinking of Karli.

When I found that my stomache was full I had eaten 10 courses. I then just sat there still in thought.

"I love him..." I answered Flame shyly.

To tell the true, I knew that already, I was just making sure you knew that yourself. Flame said softly. Know to answer your two questions. The werewolf didn't attack because the gift I gave you is called "Dragon's Truth" and who ever possesses that gift is consider to all magical creatures as a friend. And it also allows magical creatures to see how you truly are. Flame explained.

As for last question. Johann thinks you're just a friend to him, and that you don't love him. So he thinks you're throwing your life away for no good reason. He's calmed down now, he's in the Great Hall as we speak. If you hurry you can catch him. Flame answered her last question.

"Ah... Well, sorry for the interuption. Can I, um, sit with you two?" I sheepishly said after a silence, seeing their slightly suprised faces.

Flame left Karli to decide whether she wanted to go to Johann, or just stay out by the lake and think.

Meanwhile, I took out a peice of parchment, and I got out my pen. I closed my eyes and started writing on it. When I opened my eyes I had written Karli and a heart around her name. I closed my eyes again and I drew the samething. Will came up to me to see what I was doing. "Well well. Look who can't get his mind off Karli." Will said teasing.

I wasn't in the mood to laugh, I felt like I wanted to punch him in the mouth, but he was my best friend, and he didn't mean any harm. I forced out a chuckle and a smile, I said, "So? You know how I feel about her."

"Yeah, but it's not like you to do this." Will said laughing. "Why don't you go talk to her?"

"Cause she doesn't feel the same way. You know that, as well as I do." I said with a big sigh.

"I'd doubt that my friend. If you've seen the way she's been looking at you, you'd think differently. Looks like she loves you too." Will said softly.

"No, she hasn't. She has no interest in me." I said still frowning.

"What are you saying!? Your talking nonsense! You two are inseperable. I bet she loved you all this time, your just too stubborn to notice it." Will said getting mad.

"Listen I'd like to be alone. And I still don't believe that she loves me. Give me one peice of evidence." I said crossing my arms.

"Fine. Yesterday, when you took the mistletoe and laid it on the table, she kissed you. Explain that!" Will said.

"Um...it was christmas, everyone is happy then." I answered.

Will shook his head and sighed deeply. He then walked away from the table, and joined Jane for dinner.

"Oh....that's really interesting," Cassidy said to Berii, turning the book over in her hands, examining it carefully. "I'm reading up on potions from a book my mom gave me. What's yours about?"

She was startled into silence as Terra entered the Common Room. Cassidyw as really suprised to see her back so soon, and she could say nothing. Finally, after Terra spoke again, Cassidy found her voice.

"Yeah, come join us," Cassidy invited her, motioning to the chair across from her. "What happened to you? One minute you were fine, and the next you're yelling and screaming, and blacking out..."

Cassidy trailed off, hoping she had not said too much. She looked at Terra apologetically, not knowing if her episode was something she wanted to keep secret.

Cassidy returned Berii's book to her with a weak smile. She attempted some potion formulas on paper for a little while, and after some success, put down her quill.

"I need to go speak to Johann," she announced to no one in particular. She brought her things upstairs, and returned to the common room, looking a little uneasy. "We've got something to discuss."

She walked out into the hallway, and down seven flights of stairs to the Great Hall. She figured she would begin her search there, since that was the last place she saw him. All the while, she thought about what he had said about the dragon tears. An arising sense of doubt shrouded her mind, but she pushed it back.

Sure enough, Johann was there, looking a little less angry than earlier. Cassidy took a seat across from him, nodding a hello to Will.

"Johann, if you have a moment, I would like to speak to you..." she said softly, hoping he would remember their conversation earlier. She looked at him earnestly, without a smile, but the utmost, keen interest.

At that exact moment Flame forced me to switch bodies with me. In almost a second you saw my body transform. "I've wanted to talk to you too, Cassidy. I have yet to give you your gift." Flame said looking at her with a smile.

"There is another less hasle way of helping you. It's called "Dragons Mind" it allow's a person to control their mind and yet show emotion. Isn't that what you want, Cassidy?" Flame said whispering it to her so know one else could hear him. Without an answer Flame put his palm to her forehead and chanted an incantation. Is palm glowed green, then quickly faded. "You might feel tired for acouple of days, but that should have fixed you right up! Well Johanns tired and needs his body back. If you have any other request then tell Johann, and I'll do my best." Flame said smiling.

All the switch we had done today was taking it's toll. Fatique struck me like a baseball bat on a baseball, I could hardly fly in Flames body now so I left the sky to find a nice quiet place to think to myself.

Flame snapped his fingers and I returned back to my body. I found my self standing up. My legs gave out and I fell weakly to a table. "Wow! He needs to quit doing that." I said rubbing my legs, since they were the only things sore for now.

"No!" Cassidy exclaimed, pulling away from Flame's touch before the transfer could happen. He must have thought it had occured, because in a moment, Johann had resumed his own body.

Her mind swam, feelingviolated and awkward. She took a few steps back from Johann, her neres on edge, her pose defensive.

"Listen," she told him gravely, but calmly. "I don't want any special gifts from anyone. And I don't want them given to me without my consent first."

Her muscles still tense, she looked at him coldly, but hurt by the breach of trust. Her short, blond hair was a mess, strands criss-crossing all over her face, and making it impossible to read her expression. She shook her mane, and her fce cleared, revealing a firm, defensive expression.

"This is my own battle to fight," she told Johann. "Tell Flame that I am sorry for not accepting his gift."

She turned to go, hoping that they woud not be too offended.

Andrew and his mother had returned from their walk around the school. His mother had been really happy to see all her old classrooms again, and had been even more impressed by Andrew's accomplishments in his studies.

"Well, dear, say goodnight to Cassidy for me," she said to Andrew, petting him on the head quickly. "Goodnight, Andy. Dumbledore has arranged a guest room for me to stay in until I leave in a few days. I will see you tomorrow."

"Goodnight, Mum," Andrew said as she slipped throught the porthole. He saw Berii sitting with her book and walked over to say hello. "Hey Berii. How's it going?"
