Uh, no. The only reason May has more episodes based on her is because the AG series is based on Ash's journey AND hers. Misty was, indeed, a main character, but only to the extent of which the writers gave her individual episodes to shine in. In this point of view, May HAS "done" more than Misty did, but only because the writers just gave her a bigger role, since the AG season is her journey as a coordinator, and Misty's role was already firmly developed (she was a water master/gym leader).

That's the point. May is doing something worthwhile, but all Misty did (namely Johto) was become part of the backround.

She sure is doing something worthwhile, but Misty would have assumed a bigger role if she were given a bigger part by the writers. Ash started the seasons, so Misty never had the chance to move onto bigger things.

Which is probably why she was dumped.

If she WERE given a better part, then I wouldn't mind her coming back. But the problem with Misty is that she's limited, unless the writers revamp her dream. But if they change her dream and all of that, they may as well bring in a new character (May). There are a couple of opportunities for Misty, but that doesn't mean they're going to use them. Besides, it's probably going to be a rip off from Ash's and May's dreams anyway. We don't need two people collecting badges, two people collecting ribbons, or three people collecting badges, ribbons, and medallions/mini trophies or something like that. There are opportunities for Brock too, but it's not like the writers are using those.

The writers don't seem to be able to handle more than three people in a group. Brock is getting the short end of the stick this region.

Imagine Ash, May, and Misty all together. Someone out of the three of them is going to get neglected, and it seems pretty obvious who.
 
Actually, Takeshi's slightly done more in Advanced Generation than he did in Jouto. o_o Though I do agree that he deserves to have more done with him. As does Masato.

Yes, it is obvious, but just because Misty has a smaller role does not mean we'd neglect her to be our favorite character in all, or over a character with a larger role :)
 
Id personally choose Misty over May.
It was just we fans of AAML went through so much...the episode hints that they may have got together (Ash and Misty) the huge film hints (mostly the second film) the worldwide fan base the bloody songs! "under the misteltoe"..."Mistys Song"..and "He drives me crazy". And all the little fan works such as fanart and fanfiction. And then....poof....
They got rid of her! and replaced her with a.....a...lots of unmensionable words..brunette. It was as if they had replaced her. But Brock left hen re-joined the group so....i dont see why Misty cant return at the end of the new series.
 
All those songs you mentioned were American creations, so nobody cares about them. =/

And really, you should have known Misty wasn't going to stay around FOREVER. It's an anime, not a soap opera.

It seems like nobody watches pokemon for POKEMON anymore...
 
Hey! look i came on here to talk about this particular subject. Admitedly im an AAML fan but i still watch the new series when i get the chance. I dont treat it like a soap..if i treated it like a soap then i wouldnt play the games, go on the sites about pokemon, collect the trading cards. Id just watch it for the storylines...which were never masterpieces anyway. So please dont accuse me of treating Pokemon like a soap..and anyway if the show was just about Pokemon alone then why have a story line why not constant battles with the occasional mini story. It wouldnt sell it would just be stupid tips for the gamers...I apolagise if ive waffled on...or gone off topic but thats me and my opinion.

They DID get rid of her. She was nothing but BACKGROUND. Haruka actually does something in AG whereas Kasumi did NOTHING since she got Togepi. Takeshi rejoined considering Kenji was a tremendous weenie and really didn't add much to the kinda boring Orange Islands. He was just..there. Takeshi stood out like a sore thumb with his constant flirting, which is why people prefer him.
 
oops forgot to mention that i never said that Misty would stay forever i only said i dont see why they dont bring her back and re-vamp the story line. Cos here in the UK Pokemon has almost totaly faded away...because the show didnt stay interesting for the majority of the fans here. And the only way to get around this for the show seemed to be....LETS ADD MORE POKEMON! which wasnt a bad idea but why not introduce them bit by bit rather than "lets add another hundred" "ooh lets and another 2 hundred" Its just seems that thats the only thing they can do. Ok adding new fresh people to the show (May etc.) But it seemed like another scape goat.."ooh lets put something new in the show" rather than developing on the current stories.
Also i appologise if i seem argumentative or if i spelled argumentative wrong....twice.

So are you saying that none of the shows displayed any hints of Misty having feelings for Ash.
Not even in the Orange islands with Rudi?
Mistys annoyed expression at Melody kissing Ash on the cheek in the second film?
Admittedly the songs werent from Japan...maybe they can be ignored.
Some fans do take the "hints" between Ash and Misty a bit too far(by saying oooh Ash looked at Misty more than Brock in an episode) but you cannot totaly dismiss that there was something there.

I also agree with this but i do believe that putting Misty and May in the same adventure would mean getting rid of possibly Brock..which leaves the show with two girls travelling with Ash (both naive and sometimes rash) So the show would lack a mature figure like Brock....bum that a bit poopy and complicated. So i can see what you mean....all 4 of them in there would just further complicate matters.
BUT that does not mean that Misty can never come back if May was to leave to persue her journey further (highly unlikely) then there is always a chance that she could return....sorry....Misty fan..so obvious that id be possible biased.
 
I'd have to agree with StewieLloyd on his comments.... if the tv show was treated like a soap no one would play the card or gameboy games and there would be real low ratings for the actual show itself in terms of viewers

Also regarding one of the other thread repliers comments about how Brock came back after Tracey left i also agree with the fact that one of the minor role characters in the current season should be replaced by Misty who has 2 1/2 seasons off

As for choosing between Misty or May i would have to pick Misty let's face it she's one of the original characters of Pokemon the writers/ producers can try as much as they like to get rid of her but Misty is going to return end of story

In the event of the show being changed into a soap i would still watch regardless of how the show is set out as i am a 100% loyal pokemon & pokeshipper fan
 
Have somebody seen the episode AG 131? I have and in the end they are showing some parts from the next episod (that is aired on sturday i japan) an misty was there, in palletown i think it was.
 
Pocket Monsters AG airs every Thursday, not Saturday. o_O And I'll say it again, Kasumi's only staying for THREE episodes and nothing more.
