Senior staff (Smods+) usually pick them. And as for why…sometimes it's because they stand out so brightly in an area they frequent, and so on. Sometimes out of need, they'll give mods more forums. Or even the reason I mentioned earlier. This belongs in the "Questions and Feedback" section of the forum, though.
 
And sometimes they just get it because the senior staff are too lazy to search out a decent canidate.

Also there is the 'Suppose to Be Banned, And Never will be a Mod, EVER' List (The One Im on :p)

Well, most people are! everyone has an urge for power, I think o.o;;;
 
the truth is PC is randomly modding people that shouldnt be mods and now PC is hitting rock bottom its really got me mad that they cant make greg a mod but yet when Erica and Shadow come back they're remodded thats just not fair at all! -_-;;;
 
I really want to be a mod too
but i doubt thatll ever happen, on the count of my post count.
Unless i end up liking pokemon when im old enough to have a hoveround (tm)

that really isn't true. Sure, the admins have made bad decisions for modding people in the past, but we are slowly etting back to normalcy here.

As far the issue with Shadow and Lightning being re-modded and JK isn't, I really have no idea why that is, but I'm sure there is a good explanation by a senior staff member about that...
 
I always thought Moderators had to have a good expierence in the part of the forum they mod in.

Like Webmaster Discussion, no offence but shouldn't the Mods be people that are actually Webmasters of sites people can relate with?

What is the point of having a Mod if they don't even meet the total amount of requirements like Greg and Simone did. I will go along with all your "decisions" but man I think you people need to think these overs a couple hours longer.

Greg no one told me to do this,

I just think PC should try to get back on track to be a pure POKEMON forum

and not try to have there lil buddies run it, because that is just plain stupid and it will get this place nowhere

well at least put someone that is qualified in that dept.

We have big webmasters like Pkmn-Source, Pokemon706, Pokevillage that comment there alot, yet we pick someone that is not even close to as qualified?

It is annoying, just because the person is "nice" that it gives them a modship or they were a higher position before. Well, that is nice but that doesn't make them qualified for Webmaster Discussion.

Look, I went there everyday for the past 6 months and I don't want that place run down. You guys might not care but for someone who actually likes that place, I and all the other Webmasters deserve someone that we can relate and that can actually help us and answer our questions.

I know not all the Admins, were fond of WD already and this is just going to make it worse.
 
Greg left once, and was fortunately remodded. He cant leave twice and yet still expected to be modded again. It was his decision to leave a second time, so it's his own fault ^^;
With regards webmasters discussion, we still have the admins (who obviously own their own sites), Lightning, and JA for now, and who knows maybe the higher staff have plans for more -more mods are gradually being added, so just be patient.
I believe the mods are capable, because they were highlighted within the specific area they were chosen to mod as being good members there, so ppl do actually "mod what they have experience in"

FG is VP and she doens't have many posts, so it doesn't depend on that
