Monotype Challenge (Ver. 2.0)

^ Egg trading isn't addressed in the rules, only reason I posted XD I'm askin EJ to write out a set rule for egg trading. :P

We know 2 eggs are allowed, but if it's for all types, I wish I had known that. :S

If you can get 2 or more Pokemon of that type in the beginning, then it probably doesn't justify getting the egg.

In our case of bug, Spinarak/Caterpie/Weedle/Ledyba.

I wasn't pointing anyone out, I'm merely asking for clarification~

I was fine with that, as Mareep is the only electric type for a long time, but still, one is enough to get you through the game til more, but I can see EJ being ok with it, which is why I didn't comment.

But the person transferring a normal type over... that just baffles me.

Oh yeah I didn't understand your post clearly at first ha my bad! But yeah I agree with you on that, I am only transfering the Pichu egg and that's it.

If that happens to me, I'll just drop the challenge, lol. I have no interest in fighting Falkner with just Spinarak again, nor do I have interest in grinding that much again :P

I don't think you can trade normal types over since there're so many normal types available early in the game. (Miltank's a beast!)

In which case, I'll nab a Sentret as soon as Ethan gives me some Pokéballs and use him instead. =] But yes, I would like to know the rules for trading over eggs and stuff. (I only said Miltank because she's my second favourite Normal, lmao.)

Well I've said before that there's a reason this challenge is called Version 2.0. This wasn't MY original challenge. Perfectmonster was the original but he gave up so I took up the post with his permission and moderator approval. I began the 2nd version of the challenge. The rules are almost a carbon copy of the originals. I basically changed nothing soooooo the egg rule is something I had to come up with.

Let me clarify it now and I'll update the rules in a bit with it.

Pokemon types that are rare/scarce warrant egg trading. This means the dragon, ice, dark, fighting, steel, ghost and electric types are the only ones to get eggs.

Why electric? I'm only allowing people to bring in a Pichu egg because mareep, chinchou, magnemite, etc are around. Pichu serves as their "starter"

ice: I can vouch for this type and say that it's tough when half your team is acquired in th ice cave.

Dark: most are in the safari zone and that ruins the purpose of monotyping this type.

Dragon: need I say more? Of course this type is rare...

Steel: it's rare...lol

Fighting: from now on I'm only allowing a tyrogue egg to start you off.

Ghost: I haven't decided but prolly only a misdreavus egg or something. You guys decide here.

I'm setting the limit to 3. At most, you can have 3 unless I've said that type only gets one i.e. Fighting, electric,

I don't think I've seen anybody transfer normal eggs. If there is, they'd better release them.

Also, electric types aren't very common either. Mareep is your only choice for like half of johto or so...

I've defeated the Kimono girls and got a nice suprised when I ohko'd Ho-Oh thanks to a crit from surf :P

Now on the way to the E4 :)

Edit: Well, Im at the E4, For some reason I feel nervous even though I've done it loads before :P

Thanks! You're doing a really good job. I don't think I'll be getting through the first four as fast as you did. I'm going for Koga right now, but he should be a breeze considering that steel types can't be poisoned:) :) And Nyx with sharp beak and Steel with fire fang with charcoal will take out the whole team. Muk might be a problem though:( I always wind up having trouble with muk.
