I've noticed there's a lot of sections such as Challenges, Clubs and Battle Center, don't really get a lot of discussion based threads or anything because it has to be approved and it normally doesn't. I think it'd be nice to have a sub-forum where you can post freely and talk about certain challenges you're doing or the clubs as a whole or even some more general battle center discussion outside of that one thread that is supposed to hold all the discussions. You can really only talk about the conversation that's currently happening and the conversation can easily be altered.

I just think it'd be a nice addition to have. I could think of plenty of topics that could go under each of those, and I think it'd even bring up the activity in those sections.

I know this is ultimately the section leaders' opinion, but I figured everyone could have their say in this.

Wolf have you considered bringing back the BC DCC? I know that most of the competitive battling chit chat happens at the server, but having a DCC still might work and would be a place for those who don't visit the server to have laid back competitive chat.

I approve practically everything that gets submitted in the Battle Center. The times when I don't are for events and groups, which are the only reason BC has thread approval to begin with.

Anyway, I do agree that it could use some more discussions, as they have started to dwindle lately. I'd like to work on improving that soon.

I think the battle center is a lot better. I think the approval thing just takes away people from wanting to even make the threads. I've been playing the Showdown Servers a lot, and I have a lot of threads I'd like to make, but the process just seems like too much waiting for it. I guess. I think a more open place within the section for everyone to be able to post threads without approval would definitely spruce up activity, and maybe bring more people into the Battle Server.

The only Battle Corner threads I ever see on New Posts is the Team Help thing, so it's not like it's something I wanna click on. More discussions might bring more people to it.

    Do you agree?

EDIt:// I think a DCC could suffice, because you guys really need it. I'd just prefer more than that. But that's just personal preference. I like having free rain to discuss what I want. Not having to stick to the current topic at hand. I don't know, I'm picky sorry D:

I believe FCG has The Club Lounge which generate discussion among club owners, suggest ideas, and basically the laidback thread for club owners and aspiring owners. I don't know about PoC tho :(

It definitely just seems like some of the ones that need to be approved could maybe use it. As I said, some are better than others. I'd just like to see more discussions. I'll use an example now. Challenges.

There's one CI&D thread, which basically holds everything, but most of the talk there is talking about making a challenge. The only threads that get approved are good challenges. Now, what if we added a challenge discussion topic.

You could talk about your challenge stories, favorite and least favorite challenges, all that good stuff. And it can just be more laid back.

I encourage discussion in all clubs in my section. I mean, that's the whole point of it, right? xD Although I do notice that members kinda rely on the owners to create discussion so that way they can post in. That's not always the case though, because even though the club owners are ultimately responsible for creating topics and discussion within their clubs, I also encourage club members in any club to create discussion so that way they can go with the flow. They all don't have to wait for the owner to make a topic or change discussion.

CI&D stands for Challenge Ideas and Discussion. You're more than free to discuss challenges there. You can also discuss challenges themselves in their respective threads. I honestly don't know what else you could possibly be looking for. And there are threads in PGC sometimes like "what challenges have you done?" which, while not in Challenges, works fine for me.

It says in the rules that challenge discussion in the respective threads are encouraged, and whether you or others do that or not is up to y'all. I personally do it.

Just because there are no clear cut discussion threads aside from CI&D doesn't mean there are no discussion threads. Technically all of the challenge threads are, but people often opt not to use them as such. Want to make them more discussion worthy? Do it. They're already there for that.

Speaking from the Pokemon Clubs side of it all, I don't really see how you'd discuss clubs as a whole :o I mean, that's pretty much what all the other Pokemon forums are for. The clubs are just to narrow down interests, so that people can have a place to discuss certain aspects of the franchise, without it having to be part of something bigger or without having to make a thread on such narrow subjects in the more general forums. Those kind of clubs as a whole would pretty much just make up the Pokemon franchise, so yeah haha.

If you're thinking about suggestions and the likes, or tips on managing the clubs, etc., then the GM thread is always open for that kind of stuff. I know it means it could get kinda crowded within that thread, but we tried with a PoC DCC back in the early 2012, and not much discussion was ever really generated. But if interest is high enough, it could probably be brought back ;D

I would definitely love to see more discussion within clubs though. They've kinda fallen into a 'wait for a topic, answer, wait for a new topic' routine, rather than actually discussing and fleshing out topics. Of course it's all severely dependent on the topic, since you can't really discuss why Sacred Fire is a good move for very long, etc. But yeah, I'd definitely love to see clubs carrying over into discussion, with people responding to each other's answers more, rather than it all just being a +1 with quickly answering a topic D:

I personally don't think a DCC is a good way of solving the problem. :P

Moving the sections to a discussion-based praxis would be ten times more awesome and we're looking into taking steps to get the community in that direction.

Now this is the post I wanted to see. Thanks for the feedback (:
