Most overrated pokemon

GoldenFlames, like I said above- those Pokemon are used because they are FREAKING STRONG. What exactly does Dragonite do better than his 'regional clones'? He can't do Chainchomp or Scarfed Outrage like Garchomp, can he? He can't create a Sandstorm and do Boah or have STABBed Stone Edge and Crunch, can he? And he doesn't have Intimidate, or can he imitate SpecsMence. I like Dragonite too, but the other Dragons can do other things that often fit teams better than he does.

As airconditioning said, this doesn't make them "overrated." This makes them the pinnacle of the Pokemon metagame. They are some of the best Pokemon in the game. So, by the definition of overrated, they don't fit this mold. Also, Torterra and Blaziken have certain weaknesses that hold them back. Infernape and Swampert have the right combination of traits, ability, movepool, etc that make them more usable than their fellow starters.
 
I still think Blissey is overrated. You guys call it the "one-stop special wall". And it would be.... if everyone didn't have a contingency plan for it, and knew how they could stop it. The problem with Blissey is that it's TOO good, got TOO popular, and is now paying the price.
 
Flareon is overated. Jolteon is much better. >_<
 
Without out a doubt in my mind it's umbreon, I can't stand of it looks good, and has good stats, USE...
People give that thing way tooo much credit, and its not that effective unless its in the right sitchu, and right team.

I just think Umbreon is overated. I'd also say the same for Electrivre..

And what is with Kyogre being overated? Hello Uber destruction! Thing pwns...that's why its banned, lol.
 
Mewtwo and Mew. They are no match for Jigglypuff.

And despite this, Blissey is still the best Special Wall in the game. Have you ever used her? Trust me, you'd change your tune pretty quickly. Because, the fact of the matter is, there are only three ways to kill Blissey.

1) Nasty Plot Hyper Beam Porygon-Z or Exploding Azelf (Suicide mission)
2) Mixed Sweepers
3) Switch (And get a Thunder Wave to the face. And no, Blissey will not stay in on your Heracross).

And about Kyogre, It shouldn't of been banned. It's really not as good as people say it is. It's still a water type, and with the right Grass or Electrical attacks, it's long gone.

And yes, he IS better than Groudon, but Groudon is more likable.

Yeah. Any idea how you're gonna do that? With a Choice Scarf, Kyogre can outrun the entire Uber tier outside of Deoxys-A. Plus, the giant whale has 140 SDef, so it takes more than just one hit.

Groudon is a good counter, though. If he switches in on Water Spout, the damage is cut by 3/4 thanks to Drought- all you need to do is pump him full of SDef.
 
Blissey.

If you're not training this Pokemon specifically for competetive battling as your wall, then it's basically useless.

Actually, I thought Flareon was the most underrated Eeveelution. Hardly anyone uses it because, quite frankly, its moveset sucks.

Personally, I think Lucario's overrated. Yes, it's physically strong. Yes, it's fast. It's a good Pokémon, it has one of the best moves in the game (Aura Sphere), and I love mine. However, it's weak to one of the most common moves in the game (Earthquake), and its defenses are NOT good enough to withstand it. It's easily taken down by Infernape. :/

Though, in some cases, its raw strength far outweighs its lack of defense.

xD; They aren't overrated. They deserve their status (though Skarmory to a much lesser extent). People use them because they're good.

I agree Skarmory is overrated. In ADV it's very good but Magneton is so common it almost makes it not worth it. In DP it just sucks (at least for the usage it sees). Seriously, it's only really good trait anymore is spiking and now people aren't even doing that with Skarmory.

Seriously skarmory cannot wall hits anymore, it just can't. Most standard physical sweepers beat it.

Blissey being overrated made me lol. wobby is freaking uber also :0

Dugtrio actually isn't totally ludicrous since you can make an argument either way. I like it though, it can kill a lot of stuff.

Also how much something is used doesn't determine how overrated it is. Skarmbliss is overated but Blissey is in no way, shape, or form overrated. It can wall EVERY special attacker in the game besides stuff that can really batter it (SpecsLuke and Taunt Mewtwo and perhaps Kyogre in short).

Also who uses blissey for ingame? Seriously that is very flawed logic.

also Palkia_279 Kyogre can OHKO a Blissey. A BLISSEY. A Choice Specs Water Spout is game over. Just gg. ggggggggg. It can tear almost every pokemon in the game to shreds and really is nearly impossible to wall. I don't see how that qualifies as overrated.

Also Diagla has the typing of Steel (best defensive type in the game) and Dragon (2nd best defensive type in the game) and can break apart any uber stall team.

As far as what I think is overrated, a lot of Charizard. Sceptile doesn't get enough love around the starters though and is really good :( Or the subseeder at least.

Also Gengar is quite overrated, it might have amazing special stats but it's incredibly easy to wall and beat. Honestly the WoW Gengar sets are way better.

Or meh I generally disagree with most of what has been said. Just expressing my opinion lol

EDIT: Um nobody ever rated Flareon highly at all so it's tough to be overrated >.>

Also the above post pretty much nails it.
 
This thread is just bait...name a pokemon you think is overrated, have someone tell you why it's not. Yay!

edit: Charizard sucks competively. No argument.

Pretty much, yeah. Add the denizens of Flameland to the mix (is Strategies and Movesets still called Flameland?), and you have one awesome thread. :D
