I always thought the phone is the most common way to communicate with someone from a long distance. And probably the best too since the phone is practically everywhere.

Well i realy like to meet someone and talk. Even though the phone is every where andyou can tlak like that. You realy don't get to know the preson(body laungh) and also after meeting you can tlak about more stuff then just every day things. I talk on IM's a lot but it takes twice as long before i feel right about tellnig them to many things. Also i like to see them too. I feel Im's and phone are kind feelingless.

o_O I prefer e-mail, most of the time. ^^; I find I can address everything I need to at once and I won't get sidetracked right away. It may take longer than some of the other ways, but I like it best. XD

I like to be with my friends because there will be more emoition. Also. Sometimes. They can tell if I'm not joking. Or if I am!

Talking to a person face to face of course... not very effective but the easiest one to do...

IM, hotmail and anything over a monitor may result in a 3 letter word at times: lie. You don't know what's behind it... not about "safety" or anything, but it's harder to recognize if someone is truly a person who you can rely on and tell him/her things that you don't want to make public. Plus it's a lot harder without hearing expressions... like everything over the internet is automatically transformed into monotone and that's not very expressive... Afterall even gibberish may be very revealing depending on tone, and that's something IM/email always lack in.

I prefer talking on messenger. I'm really shy in real life, and I can never seem to think of anything to say. x_x; (It even gets like that on messenger sometimes..) And talking on the phone is even worse! I just don't like to. But as my second vote I'd say in person would be the best way.

Thats exactly the same thing with me, some people say I', way too shy, which is why I also prefer Instant Messaging, it just seems easier to find things to talk about that way.

IM for me too. I don't much care if its dangerous, if someone makes me feel uncomfortable then I tell them to take a dip. Yes, it happened -_-;; And I hate those people..

I like IMs better, I'm shy, so I prefer that.

All I can say for IM users is, be very careful

    I myself prefer Instant Messaging.

It's an excellent form of communication, and just like the phone, you can block any annoying people. MSN Messenger is the best in my opinion, just one small ad on the contact list window and many features you can customise. One thing puzzles me though, people have extremely long and confusing names on my MSN List. Oh well.

Yes, there are always risks with every form of communication. The person you could be talking may not be who you think he/she is. But if it's people from school, or forums, then it could prove to be a vaulable form of communcation. I feel more safer talking on the internet then in real life. That's my opinion. Of course, you can't have a classy dinner on the internet, that's reserved for real life. I hope I made some sense in my post.

It depends on who I'm talking to, but either the phone or IMing are the best for talking long distance in my opinion.

I'd like to also add that internet conferencing (audio/video messages) on MSN, etc. is unlikely to be popular internet wide until everyone gets Broadband or a high speed connection. While it is possible to have an internet conference with someone on a 56 K, the quality of the video and audio is significantly degraded and may even have long pauses on heavy internet traffic.

In real life, of course it's meet them and talk to them. =P But I also like to chat. >.>; I hate talking on the phone for some reason...
Me too, I even practice ignoring phone calls sometimes, which is kind of bad though... and hard to explain when I'm caught. :\

I find it much easier to chat than any other form of communicating, tolerance comes so much simpler. I can sit in front of the computer and chat all day, not that it's a very smart choice but I surely wouldn't last on the phone. Know that feeling when you just want to hang up? :P X_X I prefer talking IRL over the phone

I think IM is the best way. I have always been freaked out by phones becaue I am afraid to say something wierd and I just don't like them and before I got IM that meant I nevevr talked to anyone that much but I go on IM about every day and I really like talking to my friends like this.

I prefer to Instant Message because if I communicate by phone I'm always thinking that my voice migth sound weird through the other line. :P
