Moves that you use that you always ignored before

(Again I am terrible with coming up with thread titles lol but this is basically like the Unlikely Partners thread but with moves instead of Pokemon)

For me it's assist, I always ignored it because it didn't seem like it was that great but I'm currently playing the Flora Sky ROM hack and my Delcatty has it. While doing the typical EXP grinding I decided to use it and it's actually pretty cool. I only use attacking moves so it's pretty useful (despite it being completely random luck based) and it's pretty entertaining seeing a Delcatty use a move like fly or surf.

Nearly every stat changing move haha. I only learned to stop using just damaging moves back in 2014 when I stopped being a total noob.

Found out how fun Baton Pass (ft. Mega Blaziken) was as soon as I started playing Showdown battles.

Stat-boosting moves. I learned how useful they really were thanks to the days I used to battle on Pokemon Showdown.

I would too, but I am absolutely terrible at coming up with a strategy so I just attack (kinda how I am in real life too tbh) lol

I do use stat boosting moves rather more now as well, though I still fall victim to the 100% sweeper mentality at times.

These two, defintely. And mainly non-damaging moves in general, because I didn't see the wide range of possibilities until like two years ago. Now I am a changed man (and trainer).
