Mine IS a McIceGar with HP Ice :\ Focus Punch is USELESS while there is Focus Blast

If your saying "BLISSEY!!!", sleep the fool and Focus Blast. It's a 3-4HKO. Blissey won't be able to do ANYTHING to Gengar if it doesn't have Ice Beam, which most Blissey's now don't have Ice Beam

Blisset very commonly has IB in D/P. But really, blissey can just outstall you with softboiled, and it paralyzes you wityh no sub. It doesn't really fear focus blast at all :/

Thats why Gengar has Hypnosis. Blissey has Aromatherapy, but it won't be able to use it while its sleeping.

Blissey's most standard moveset goes

Blissey@Leftovers
Trait : Natural Cure
Moves :
- Seismic Toss
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled
- Thunder Wave

D/P now dislikes the use of Ice Beam, it's almost useless unless a Dragon comes out at Blissey. Tangrowth can Power Whip = 2hko. Seismic Toss is used WAY more nowadays. If people can't get Seismic Toss, they get Counter. Ice Beam was used because of Serene Grace boost, freeze haxxxx

Focus Blast IS a 3HKO. Sleep Blissey, and strike Focus Blast.

Really, the user can switch out bliss (natural cure)...into something that absorbs focus blast and stands a chance. (leik, quick claw rhydon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

lol Rhydon can't really take a Focus Blast. Solid Rock? Maybe, but Gengar will still outrun and strike. Quick Claw Rhydon/Rhyperior, Quick Claw = Hax item.

Blissey comes in again... Hypnosis for you my buddy. If cured, then switch back in, sleep, cure and so on. The big thing is you can't outrun in any ways.

Rhydon is in nowhere of absorbing Focus Blast

Focus Punch is a 2HKO and Focus Blast is a 4/5hko.

also its mainly a SkarmBliss counter

Ive steadily seen an increase in Ice Beam on Blissey especially on shoddy battle.

For what? Even if it increases, did it lead the user well? Did it work for them well?

Gengar is a Special Sweeper with large type coverage. This is 4th generation.

I beg to differ about Focus Blast being a 4/5HKO. It's a 3HKO

It was a joke lol...

I'm stuck in 3rd gen anyways. But poikemon like Zam come in and then do-mi-nate. Really, lots of pokemon can at least absorb it and then take out gengar. Really, McIceGar is a great skarmbliss counter...assuming it doesn't haave ice beam, but both sets are screwed by that...

Blissey with Leftovers is a bad sign, it's a, 4/5HKO, Focus Blast does 213 HP damage.

EDIT: Gah, I'm still used to Choice Specs Gengar! lol

Ah...well, specs gengar MAYBE, but then bliss isn't asleep...

Wait, how is bliss with lefties a bad sign? for gengar, maybe

Well one of the most common Blissey counters is Garchomp or a Bulky ground type expecting a thunderwave, so if you can catch it on the switch in with Ice Beam you can at least put a dent in it. Also what is unusual ,is that ive also seen alot of people putting Ice Beam on Dragon Dance Tyranitar for the same reason, just to dent Hippowdon, Glisor, Garchomp and other Bulky ground types who somewhat wall the standard and force you to switch out.

Focus Blast is a 4HKO

from Timid Gengar on a 714 HP/ 306 SP.DEF Blissey it does
hp damage :204 - 241
Damage: 28.57% - 33.75%

from metal kids calculator

EDIT: I read your edit about the choice specs on Gengar.
