Moving to Unova, or staying in Johto/Sinnoh?

I'm going to use one of my HGSS files as storage. Call it superstition, but I always lose the first copy of every Pokémon game I buy, and sometimes I don't get them back... XD

Keeping all my RNG abused pokemon on my HG up until I start breeding BW and might switch them over to BW. if not will probably clone them all and send them to SS for storage incase i lose them somewhere.

Well, having finally managed to obtain 489 of 493 Pokémon without any cheats or hacks of any sort between all my game, I'm going to spend a LOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG time transferring them to Unova, but I'm going to pack my bags and move. It's time to put SoulSilver (my main game at the moment) away with all the others.
I don't have Mew, Celebi, Deoxys or Jirachi.
All others I have through Events and gameplay :D!

I'll probably move all of my Pokemon over, I've already got Japanese white, but I'mma wait til I get the English version before I move them all over, since I think you might have to anyway.
But I prefer Unova to Johto and Sinnoh now, so why not move them. I can always restart my other games and do challenges on them and what not. :P

I'm going to keep migrating my pokemon to the PKMN White. I still have a ton of good pokes on my Daimond that never made it to Platinum, and tons of Platinum ones that never made it to Soul Silver. I'll see how fast those pokes will help me beat White :D

There's a few Pokes that need to be in my current game, such as Bertha my EV'd Magmortar, PKTOPIA as well. My Miltank & Scizor as well probably.

Well, I am gonna trade my team to Black or White (Haven't decided which one to get yet) but that's if I am able to trade between a DS Lite and a 3DS, if not, then it's a new team from scratch for me, which is not a bad thing if I can catch the Pokemon that I'm looking for.

I always have a policy of not trading/migrating any main team members from one game to another - I always start every new game fresh with a new team. Otherwise half the fun is taken out of it and you have a ridiculously over-powered team, so there's no challenge.

As to whether I'd stay with Black/White as my main games rather than HG/SS, it's perfectly possible that I would go back to HG/SS if I don't like B/W as much. The same thing happened with D/P/Pt - I didn't like them nearly as much, so I went back to FireRed until the release of HG/SS.

I'm sticking with Platinum. For starters, I'm not even sure I'll be playing B/W, and second, if I do play them, no doubt my teams on Platinum will be obsolete with the introduction of the new moves and whatnot. The thing I have to worry about with trading over my competitive team is the whole "friendship level gets reset" issue because one of my team members uses Return.

Well as it looks now i won't be able to buy Black or white when they first come out in Us.So ill e sticking to platinum and soulsilver for a while but when the time comes and i get black or white i will prob take my soulsilver or my platinum team(most likely my platinum)Since there both the same team and transfer it to black or white. Then ill retire my pokemon platinum game.

Only thing I'm going to miss is Platinum and its huge amount of replayability, especially in comparison to Black and White. And Sinnoh was a great region, too.

Aside from that... I'll be moving to Black and White permanently. Transferring everything I actually care about. I'll just replay the Generation 4 games every once in a while when I get bored.

I'll be doing basically the same thing, I won't transfer any Pokemon until I complete Pokemon White, when I play through a game I don't like having anything I haven't obtained soley from that cart (although I have been known to transfer over a Poochyena once are twice as Mightyena is awesome :P )

I'm probably going to keep all both my teams(Johto and Shinnoh)over on SoulSilver and just start fresh on White. Once I beat the E4, though, I'll start building a new team for Unova.

Hmm, looking at this thread... it's actually not really centred on HGSS only but more 4th gen to 5th gen games. Hence going to move to this to GPG.

Whoa, why is this here? :| ...I guess this is fine. Um, the only thing I'm gunna send to BW are some of my favorite Pokemon (Furret, Umbreon, Smeargle, etc) that aren't available to me in BW. I'm not sending over all my teams and stuff though. I didn't do that with gen III stuff when DP came out and I don't intend on doing that for this generation.

I plan on sending everything over to Black after I've completed the game. Right now I have several prized Pokemon in Diamond, some of them even from my earliest playthroughs of Ruby and Sapphire. In Soul Silver I have quite a few 'Mons I've trained and grown attached to. Once all my good old Pokemon are in Unova, I'll eventually reset my 4th gen games and replay them whenever I feel like it. It'd be nice to leave them where they are and do more with them there, but... I know I'll be playing Black more often than Diamond or Soul Silver, and I can't bear to leave behind my old teams

I will be sending the majority of my pokemon over, so once I complete it, I can make my favourite team, which actually includes new pokemon for the first time since Gen3.

well shoot wen i get Black im still not guna be done with HG or Platinum (thats a for sure thing) since i play so slow and breed alot......like in HG im still in Kanto with 2 Kanto bagdes with almost 480 hours and i just got three badges in Plat with like 20 hours of gameplay.....so you see...im never gonna be done and since ima have Black the first day it comes out ima go ona breeding spree....... playin three games at once makes for a lot of fun i guess
