We've all had our share of rotten luck.

Last night I broke my winning streak in super doubles at The Battle Maison because stupid heat wave missed both targets completely. That was a matchup I would have won, but that 10% chance to fail completely reversed the course of the battle because Abomasnow didn't die like it was supposed to.

Share your war stories. Did you come across a shiny pokemon in the early game before you had pokeballs? Therefore not being able to capture it. Or maybe you found a shiny and had a master ball but your DS screen inexplicably froze? What about the time your wifi connection died in the middle of a sweep? Ever have a battle tower opponent's quick claw active and land a horn drill on you three times in a row? Did your Pokemon lay hundreds of eggs, but not one of them have the hidden ability they were supposed to? That's what this thread is here for, to tell the world of your sorrows.

i still remember my very first shiny experience in ruby version where i KO'd a shiny linoone with my blaziken because i was under the impression that shiny pokemon were stronger than non-shinies, so i thought it'd live. and after that i would be able to catch it. or so my thought process went. i was very much proven wrong.

... although i guess i'm not sure that's so much bad luck as it is me being an idiot. but still.

I saw the old man in Viridian City catch a shiny Weedle during the catching tutorial in FireRed, and all I could do was sit there and watch...

The only two shiny Pokémon I've caught in official games were the same species.

Wonder trade when I get 100 wurmples and wingulls, and watch someone else get a Victini. Still, nothing but happiness for him. But wow I wish I could get something out of this. It's my favorite feature in gen 6.

Edit: Seriously right after typing this someone wonder trades me a Hoopa. It's so bizarre.
