A while ago I had a fic idea that, without going into too much detail, incorporated a bit of the Lumiose museum into its plot. So what I thought was that I could expand upon the idea a bit and turn into a series of articles.

Basically what I'm pitching is an analysis of different "art exhibits" that the Lumiose Museum would be borrowing from various other places around the world. Each of the exhibits in question would be connected by and overall theme ("Creatures of the deep" - For water pokemon like Relicanth/Lanturn for example), with the exhibits containing an appropriate amount of paintings for the article. Under each of the selected works (I'd use TCG art to make it easier) I'd be writing a small "analysis" of the painting - Like any piece in a museum, I'd be explaining its relevancy to culture, history and style. This is more of a creative piece rather than a factual one. I'd certainly be taking inspiration from pokedex entries/pokemon mythology, but I'm trying to create an original work that would give new stories and tidbits for people to consider when they think about certain pokemon.

It'd pretty much be set up like:

    INTRO

Paragraph or two explaining the theme of the paintings, what to expect, why they're grouped together and if it applies, explaining the "importance" of these paintings contextually.

    ANALYSIS

A collection of TCG art that fits the theme. Under each piece would be an explanation, mainly a story on why the painter would paint this pokemon. These stories would be original but not veer into going against canon knowledge of the pokemon.

    CONCLUSION

Go see the exhibit, author's personal painting, etc. All that fun stuff!

The idea does sound neat. So to clarify, this article series would only be of TCG art, or if it extended beyond that, of 'official' Pokemon artwork rather than fanworks? I'm alright with that if that is the case; probably deserves some mention in the beginning said articles are involving TCG art then.

What would you want the first article to be on, btw?

TCG or official art, yes. It's easier to keep a consistent art style of sorts, as well as it being easier to give credit.

I was debating between a couple. My first idea was a fairy pokemon type exhibit, with the article being written with the aim that everyone should go see it because it's an exhibit that the Lumiose museum lends out a lot (Since they have a unique blend of fairy pokemon). The other one I was considering was the "Hidden Heroes of Hoenn", this exhibit focusing on native Hoenn pokemon that aren't water type. It would start off mentioning that even though Hoenn is mainly known for its immense volume of water, the region has more to offer than that and would incorporate stories of pokemon that helped shape the non-water parts of the region into what it is today.

Sounds good to me, and Astinus also gave his blessing, so article series approved! I'll copy your last post to the workshop subsection, so whenever you're ready you can post a draft on one of those ideas in there for the first article. Any questions, ask away!
