Has this happened to anyone else?

While I was trying to breed my ditto and Eevee (which I got from a trade, Thank you so far, Pokecommunity) I left my 3DS off for a while, because I had to go to work. After work I stopped by the day care. I had a full party so I knew I couldn't take the egg, but I still wanted to know if they popped one out, So I go to the old man and ask him. Why yes they have... GREAT! So I press B as fast as possible over and over again to speed up the "yeah let me deposite a pokemon in the PC" process. last thing I saw, as my finger just pushed on B?

Oh you don't want the Egg? -presses B-
    Okay then, we'll keep it.

    FUUUUUU-!!!

tl;dr?= Pressed B way too many times, sick man kept pokemon babies from me.

Hate that too, I wish A just made thing go faster than B <_<

I haven't experienced this problem before, but I might have a few times.

My own FUUUUU Daycare moment is when my baby Pokemon doesn't have the natures/IVs I want, forcing me to reset the game and try again.

yeh but it wasnt that annoying. i've had button mashing rages in many other games the worst being castlevania SotN where i accidently pushed up on the title screen and found myself deleting my whole save file. T.T
so happy that the new pokemon make it hard to delete your save.

Ouch. Yeah what I ended up doing is resetting the game. I never got why people need a certain nature or gender.. or IV's..

This has happened to me quite a few times, it didn't bother me tbh. New eggs pop up after a few steps, and I'm not into IV's.

Natures and Iv can make your pokemon significantly more powerful. You have to pay attention at least to your natures to stand a chance in competitive play.

Ah. I'm not much into competitive play on pokemon, I'm in it to beat the story and fill me pokedex :D Thats why trading and breeding to me is more interesting then actually natures or anything like that. Mind you I still level all my pokemon to the 60-80 range.

Didn't they change this in newer games?

I know in Heart Gold/Soul Silver the daycare man will ask you if you want the egg and if you say no, he'll ask if you're certain you don't.
Haven't done any breeding in Black/White (all my EV training items and such are on HG, lol) so i'm sorry if they don't have it on there :P

But yes, even with him asking twice in HG/SS I still manage to give away eggs somtimes :D I'll start talking to him and then something on TV will catch my eye and I'll accidentally give him the egg.
It's no problem really, since the eggs come rather quickly anyway.

The biggest FUUUU moment I have with breeding is when they override the attack I'm trying to pass down from the eggs' father. >:[

ooh, This as happened to me as well, just pay a visit to the move deleter before you place them in the day-care.

Um...just asking, but why would you press/button-mash B? I thought the A button was used way more for confirmation of choices, while the B button was typically used to cancel an option or decline a choice... Yeah, B is capable of "scrolling/advancing the text" like A, but I would think you'd usually press A as second-nature, as B can also be used as an "Exit" button. I know there are some instances where the "negative" option is pre-highlighted by the cursor though, in which case I usually pay more attention. Regarding Pokemon breeding and the Daycare, I would think the cursor pre-selects "Yes/Take the Egg" before you click on it.

This isn't really a problem for me, as I typically monitor the screen closely whenever I am breeding Pokemon.

so happy that the new pokemon make it hard to delete your save.

What kind of game makes it so that one button press leads to save file deletion? 0_0 Anything that can alter your save file that much should have a fairly complicated/hard-to-accidentally-replicate button input, so mistakes like that don't happen. Lately, Pokemon does a pretty good job of warning you before deleting a save file, not to mention the button shortcut on the Start screen is rather complex as well. Though the DPPt method is a bit excessive - you should at least be allowed to start a New Game without being forced to delete the save file. >_>

Ouch. Yeah what I ended up doing is resetting the game. I never got why people need a certain nature or gender.. or IV's..

Ohohoho...genders are usually personal preference, but they do matter during Pokemon breeding and issues of inheritance. IVs and EVs can cause your Pokemon to have glaring disadvantages during several battles - the Battle Frontier is a prime example of this. Outspeeding the foe (whether via Speed stat boost, or investment of Speed IVs/EVs) can make or break several Pokemon battles; I can attest to that from experience. It's part of the reason why I specifically raised a Hasty Flygon just to stand a fighting chance against several of the Battle Frontier's insanely fast Pokemon.

Yeah, the double confirmation has been present since at least Generation 3, from my knowledge. The wording in RSE is a bit strange, though - the Daycare Man asks "I really will keep it [the egg]. You do want this, yes?" which could be taken to imply that:

-Yes, you (as the player)do want the Pokemon egg
-Yes, you do want the Daycare Man to take the action of keeping the Pokemon egg from you

Both of those invite opposite interpretations, from my perspective. If the lines were:

--"Your Pokemon produced an Egg! You do want the egg, yes?
    --*player selects NO*
--"Hm? I'll keep it if you refuse. Once again, do you want to take the Egg?
--*player selects NO for the second time*
--"Alright, then I'll keep it! Thanks!"

...I think that text would cause less confusion.

The only time I look away from the screen is when I'm doing the "running/bicycling" part with the Pokemon Egg in my party. Otherwise, whenever I'm talking to the Daycare Man, I specifically pay attention to the screen so as not to make a dreadful mistake.

Like I said, Im not so much into battling everything as I am into completing the pokedex. Mostly all pokemon 80+ will wipe out mostly all NPC pokemon in game.

    Gotta catch 'em all, yo.

The reason that people button mash B over A is because oftentimes, if you buttonmash A, you'll accidentally start the text all over again by re-talking to the NPC. This can be extremely aggravating if it's a large dialogue.

I don't really have any FUUUU moments at the daycare, but I generally don't try interesting things at the DayCare. I breed the Pokemon, collect the egg, and hatch it.

No, because I use A to skip the dialogue. Still, I've had those moments where the Pokemon have bad natures or stats, or the old man just takes forever to get me my eggs. Sometimes the right egg moves aren't passed down to the baby, and that gets under my skin too.

This has happened to me before, usually I just groan and turn off the console and pick up wherever I saved last - I didn't know new eggs came after a few more steps, I only just learned that after reading this thread lol :P
