Need some help with my 1999-2001 cards

Hey all,

I've been cleaning up and trying to sell some of my collections. One of them is a pokemon card collection.

Does anyone have a experience with card selling(in large amounts)? Ive been scanning the internet, selling singles seems fairly easy, but I just want to find a buyer for sets or all of them at once for a fraction of what the cards are worth.

Some questions I have:
What is the most reliable source for card prices?
Where do card collectors meet online? (I rather sell to a collector then to some wholebuying site, even if I make less money on it)
I also have a fair bit of Japanese cards, where can I find collectors for these?
How do I reconize rares? (its been about 16 years ago haha)

English cards:
Base deck - 80 card: 5 holo; 37 trainer; ? rares
Jungle - 45 cards: 1 holo; 5 trainer; ? rares
Fossil - 34 cards: 1 holo; 4 trainer; ? rares
Base deck 2 - 21 cards: 3 holo; 11 trainer; ? rares
Team rocket - 26 cards: 0 holo; 8 trainer; ? rares
Neo genesis - 16 cards: 0 holo; 0 trainer; ? rares
Neo discovery - 11 cards: 0 holo; 0 trainer; ? rares

Misc. cards:
Multiple european languages - 39 cards
Japanese cards(multiple decks) - 53 card: 6 holo; 10 trainer; ? rares
And about 100 random energy cards

Answers to your questions:

1. Tallying up the average price of all completed listings that sold on eBay and then getting the average sale price has generally been the most reliable method.
2. Much of the Pokemon TCG community has migrated onto Facebook groups. As someone who tends to avoid Facebook groups as a rule due to how toxic they get, the only one I've ever heard of is Virbank City Gym, and generally only how toxic people can get in it. You might be better off selling on eBay so you have recourse to avoid being ripped off.
3. eBay. English-speaking fans who avidly collect the Japanese cards aren't all that easy to find, and the values of Japanese cards suffers because of that.
4. You see the little symbol in the bottom right corner next to numbers? If it's a star, it's a rare. If it's a diamond, it's an uncommon, and if it's a circle, it's a common.


Values of your cards would depend on specifics.

Thanks alot for the info, going to have another look at my collection and then put it up on eBay.

Recon this website is accurate: pokemonprices dot com?(cant post links yet). Doesnt say where they get the prices, but I guess eBay.

Going to see what my rares and holo's are worth, don't really have the time to check every single one. Plus I don't really care about the money, just don't wanna dump my cards in the garbage can haha, rather make someone happy with them.

The prices are for mint cards, some of mine are used or even poor, I guess this makes them worthless to collectors.

While checking on prices I found 2 cards from the jungle set which don't have the jungle set icon on the card. Does someone know how this is possible?

Some of those seem very high in price. eBay sold listings is very useful as it gives a good indication on when they're selling as well.

I admin a large Pokemon Card selling group, I can PM you the link. Virbank is okay,people in there usually sell more TCG related cards,and sometimes it's hard to get into the group

Yeh I guess the prices on this website is the average price people ask, not what they are sold for.

I would love that link :) i'll try to make some pictures of my collection soon and ask what people think about it in your group if that's alright.
