I was thinking about pretty much any type is better if Steel is slapped on as an extra type. Besides Ice. Ice/Steel doesn't seem nearly as beneficial.

    Are there any other examples?

Not just 'bad' typings, but more interesting would be types that are otherwise good but fail to pair up in a positive way.

    Tyranitar says hello......

I guess Rock/Dark is among the worst negative type combination, granting double weakness to fighting, which is one of the best offensive type in the game. And it also brings many other weaknesses as well.

The old Ground/Rock comes with two double weakness. Not bad per say, but being weak against one of the most common type is something to look into.

And on offensive spectrum, Ghost/Psychic can be really good under good conditions, but again two double weakness exists, and that too against one of the type which the Pokémon has.

Yeah, it speaks a lot to Tyranitar.

With how it managed to be so incredible across many generations with that typing.

Great stats and ability have managed to propel it forward.

Rock/Ground is a terrible combination that cripples a ton of Pokemon. Rock barely helps most of the time since it doesn't have many good moves it can grant STAB to, and gaining a 4x weakness to Water and Grass, 2 of the earliest types in the game is a crippling drawback that's hard to overcome unless a Pokemon has some serious upsides.
