    Hi all,

My name is Eoin/Solez, I'm a 29-year-old guy from Ireland. I've been on hiatus from the forum world for a long time, but I'm dipping my toe back in with The PokéCommunity. My favourite Pokémon games are probably Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, but I've been playing, watching, trading etc since Pokémon Red/Blue. I'm not hugely familiar with the competitive scene and not well-versed in Pokémon EVs and the like, but I love Pokémon in all its forms! Scizor is my favourite.

Aside from Pokémon, I'm into lots of other things: gaming in general (take a look at my blog for some posts); reading (mainly fiction, literature, and graphic novels); films and TV (particularly animated stuff); and hanging out with my friends and fiancée. I'd love to make some friends on here, so if you think you'd like to learn more about me, please get in touch!

Watched the Pokemon Anime much? Is Hoenn your favorite region or are you just a fan of ORAS? I'm 1/4th Irish by the way and maybe, if I ever get around to it, I'll visit Ireland sometime.

Hey there! Can't believe I missed this post! :O

Welcome to the community Solez! Glad you decided to join us. It's nice to have more people who've been around the Pokemon scene for some time to chat with. Are you considering sharing some of your literature? I hope you do! You can post it in the Fanfiction & Writing section. :)

    Thanks everybody!

Sheep: I look forward to seeing you around as well! Thanks for the welcome!

CodeHelmet: Hoenn might be my favourite region, yeah. Although I've been into Pokémon since Red/Blue, and I've played them since, the first Pokémon game I bought myself and played to completion was Pokémon Sapphire. ORAS are beautiful remakes of games which I have a lot of nostalgia for! I watched the anime religiously through Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, though only intermittently since then. And you should visit Ireland, it's usually well received by visitors and tourists!

Fairy: Thank you, and no problem that you missed it! Yes, I too am glad that there are some Pokémon veterans around these forums. I study and read literature more than I write it, but some of my creative writing may well end up here alright!

Played Yellow version by chance? Definitely a different experience than Red/Blue or any game for that matter. It's solid practice if you ever decide to play Let's GO(particularly Pikachu Version). Eevee Version is a "what if" on the opening events in Pokémon Yellow, but Let's GO is noticeably different and particularly with the Generation 2-7 changes(except for items and abilities... people were really annoyed with that omission along with excluding Baby and Post Kanto Evolutions(like Crobat)).

If you haven't watched the Anime since Hoenn, I highly recommend you do so. Diamond and Pearl is pretty good and many have it in their top 2, if not #1. Black&White(aka Unova) is not for everyone. My take on it is that the games did a far better job but some found it be enjoyable. XY or Kalos is also up there for a lot of people and well worth the watch, particularly if you're into shipping(Spoiler: Serena likes Ash and she takes it up a notch in XY140 or S19E47). Finally with Sun&Moon or Alola, it's such a departure from the games that I'm a bit disappointed. Some of the characters I've come to like but overall it could have been executed better.

I haven't played Yellow, but I've played Let's Go! Pikachu, which I very much enjoyed. I didn't mind that the Baby/Post-Kanto evolutions weren't included, though I think the items and abilities would have been a nice addition, as they add a lot of strategy to the game.

Thanks for the rundown on the different seasons: I'll have to catch up! I've caught some of the Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos episodes, though I agree in thinking that the Alola/Sun&Moon episodes seem to have turned the show into something very different, so I'm not too enthused by them!

Pokemon to rule them all in LGP: Alolan Sandshrew. Avoid Blaine and to a lesser degree Giovanni but otherwise... Steel just crushes Kanto. Bruno is also worth avoiding due to the x4 weakness but with so many resistances... it just kicks major butt. Just wish its Steel arsenal was better. Iron Tail is all he has.. Magneton though... yeah now that's a Steel Type.

As for the Anime, I recommend you watch as much as you can. You might come to like Dawn, Iris(eh she's better than Misty imo), Serena and even the Alolan Companions(all 5 of them). Bonnie in XY can be quite memorable at times though. She's basically Brock in a younger and cuter form:
