yes the whole point of pokemon is becoming the best trainer in the region so taking away gyms/ elite 4 would take away half the game

While I believe they can certainly change a few aspects of gyms, I agree, the foundation itself should remain.

True without the core (well the real core is pokemon but...yeah if you take away pokemon it's not a pokemon game any more :P) made up gyms the series might fall apart. I'm glad we kept our core :)
 
I heard the honey thing is actually a smith... Gym music doesn't confirm gyms after all... I like random pop out-of-nowhere bosses in other games more than ones that broadcast it with a sign like a gym leader it takes more skill to fight a boss you don't expect coming than one you went to go see.

Well didn't they confirm that the Roller coaster was a gym so that mean gyms are in Isshu too :)

HOW DARE THEY TRY TO CHANGE THE GAME?!

I guess you have a point though, since everyone already expects the generic evil team, crappy plot, gym/E4, a change like that would be pretty big.

ya i dont mind different looking pokemon, older trainers, 3d whatever but no gyms would be a bit extreme

Hey, that's great, go play those games, but I highly doubt we'll see a change of heart concerning gyms. The random pop out of nowhere battles (or "boss" battles) are the rivals, so we still have some of that aspect.

Be in disbelief all you want, I think you'll be disappointed yet again.

You do realize they could keep the stupid aspect of collect the 8 badges and fight the 4 dudes at the end and then the 1 big battle but just make the gym leaders randomly pop up... So yes they could fulfill both desires for gyms and random fights... If you are too afraid of gyms being random battles you could always get the guide and be prepared... It fulfills both aspects right there... Also I didn't start the no gyms thing I'm just saying I'm fine without gym leaders... If they stay the same fine... If they change it then fine...

ya i know a lot of people might say that i dont like change but ive loved all the changes so far this generation but if they take out gyms they might as well take out the evil team and the pokemon champion etc
