All, new to this and helping son to create a deck.

Re new expansions - please could someone explain SM2/SM2+ for example. I can see that there are different sets in Japan, but how do the '+' ones relate. Are all the cards in the Japanese version of a set used in the English set? Is there a definitive website/list.

Re rotations - there is a lot of speculation about this. I assume it is just that, until the official announcement? Aside to say that Primal Clash, Double Crisis and Roaring Skies will be rotated out?

    Thanks.

Where are you seeing the "+" stuff? Context matters in that case.

And not all cards in the Japanese version of a set get brought over, but most of them do. There used to be more variance in what was brought over and what was pushed to the next English set, but that's seemed to become more consistent in the past 4 years.

And rotation talk is just best-guess speculation until they actually announce a rotation. They've rotated 4 sets at most rotation announcements, though.

    From Pokebeach:
Tapu Lele will be card #026/049 in SM2+ Strengthening Expansion Pack: Beyond A New Challenge. The set will be released in Japan on April 19th.

SM2+ seems to be referring to a mini-set that released in Japan just after the release of their second Sun and Moon sets (they seem to favor releasing small dual sets rather than larger sets).

All the stuff from those "+" sets come out in the English main sets, so the SM1+ stuff was in Guardians Rising, the SM2+ will be in our third Sun and Moon set in August.

We know that clash, skies, origins and crisis are going, we're unsure if BREAKthrough will join them. Normally we'd safely assume it was going, but we think TPCI might want to rotate the 5 BREAK bloc sets out at once to remove them as a game mechanic. This would make sense, as Origins, Skies and Clash are the three sets where Ancient Traits were a mechanic

    Thanks for the replies.

Re SM3 Burning Shadows - as the release date is Aug 4th, when, roughly, would you expect the official set list to be announced.

I assume that there isn't an 'official' translation of the Japanese sets which go into making SM3, for example.

Setlist will leak a week before. We'll get a fairly good idea of the set by July though
