    Hello everyone :giggle:

    Italian dude here, I could misspell something or do any sort of funny mistake. Educate me, i'll appreciate that.
    I am here mainly for the Fan Game aspect of this community, but i am happy to do some pokémon talk everytime.
    I fiddle around rpgmaker since my adolescence (i'm 32 now) and i have lot of experience with RPGM XP. But i really never need to go deep in the scripts, so even if i am very good in event, variable, switch and all that stuff, i don't know anything about ruby and Essential is still a little hard to me.
    When i was younger i knew of its existence, but i didn't understand english enough to try an approach to it. Now i glad that this community is still alive and i really hope to find some casual support and a lot of fun games to try. Of course i don't have all the time i have in the past, but my project waited for so much in the background of my mind i don't have any rush eather.

    While I've not personally played any fan games as of yet, I've certainly heard about a few really neat sounding ones! I hope you find some that you really like!

    Don't worry, you will find more people who are not native English speakers here than you may think! ^^
    I can suggest some great fan games I have played. Solar Light - Lunar Dark, Zeta / Omicron, Insurgence (my favourite ^^), and, if you are into top level battles, Desolation (incomplete but on the works and many hours of playing already) and Reborn (one who also has many hairpulling puzzles!)!
    These last two also have the rarity of a regular Pokémon as character in the story!
    What are your favourite Pokémon ?

    i'm into Pokèmon since Blue arrived in Italy. Wikipedia tells me it was in 1999. So... 25 years.
    ... now i'm feeling old.
    I don't have a favourite game, or pokèmon.
    A special place in my heart is taken by Pokèmon Silver and Gold, but i also like X and Y a lot growing up and Sword and Shield. I don't have find the time yet to play Scarlett and Violet.
    I like Snorlax, Wailord, Lapras, the Unowns, Drampa, Alakazam... lots of them. But i usally don't like the design of pokèmon that looks like item or food without being some sort of electric-magical force inside them. So, for example, i like Rotom, Cofagrigus and Sinistea, but i don't like Milcery, Vanillite and their evolutions. I also don't like Tinkatink, i found her too much humanlike. But that's only my taste.

    Neat! I have played Pokémon since the first generation too!
    The Red version and Charizard have been my top favourites ever since!
    I like Lapras, Wailord, Alakazam too. Globally my preference goes to most Dragon type and dinosaur looking Pokémon but I also like the beautiful ones like Milotic and Gardevoir (as you might have guessed ^^)!

    Dragons and dinosaurs are cool, but thinking more about it i realize that my favorites are the ones look wise or peaceful, that's the link between the species i mentioned before.
    As for making fan games, i don't have a favorite part. And i am also not only doing fan-pokèmon-game, but games in general with the various versions of RPGMaker. I am a game master for tabletop rpgs, so i love creating worlds and original lore, write good dialogue (eventhough i cannot say if i can do that in a language that is not my native one) and characters, give players options and try to make they feel part of the world and the stories... but when you have all togheter, after you done your tileset, graphics, enemy, ecc., the mapping is also very fun, it's like be a child again with tons of lego set. You've prepared all your tools and the project start to reveal itself, as you shaping it. It's always a very creative and satisfying moment (<= moment: probably one/two years).
    That's sad, i'm working of something right now of course, slow and steady, without knowing a lot about ruby and try to fill the gaps. I really hope i can have something to share (not a demo, but maybe some info about the plot, the mechanics, and a lot of screenshoot) by September.
    We'll see.
