Prof.Larch or some other obscure tree.
 
Wait...Prof. IVY!!! that means they don't have to be trees! there's the evidence, they don't always use trees!
 
I know this is never going to happen but since we are talking about trees

Prof. Apple, Prof. Banana, Prof. Peach, Prof. Orange, and all other fruit bearing trees.

I actualy think Prof. Peach sounds really good =) I also like the name Prof. Maple.
 
I'll also have to say that a female professor named Maple would be pretty cool. Willow also sounds nice. '

As far as the japanese names go, I only know that Oak's last name was originally "Okido". Oak = Okido. They sound similar, and that's probably why they changed his name to that. I'm not sure what the other professors' names were. Either all the japanese names conveniently sounded similar to tree species, or they just decided to keep going with the tree thing for whatever reason.

And I guess the tree thing is just the same as the towns being named after obscure colors. However, they stopped the color thing with RSE, so who knows, maybe they'll stop naming the professors after trees as well. :P
 
i think that a female prof. would be awsome and prove to the world that women are just as important as men......even though im a guy

I was thinking prof Spruce or Maple but I think it may be only one syllable as they have done.
I just hope they dont have a Professor Willow or an Aspen cuz I'd get mighty suspicious. For those are the MARANA PROFESSORS (though Aspen will be a playable character)
 
Has anyone done Prof. Beech? From the Beech tree.

But yeah, a female prof. would be nice.

What abour Prof. Ebony? That's what usually use for a prof if it was in pokemon.
