in some languages there's a difference between gender of non-animal objects. it's kinda strange. computers are female in spanish (i think) and forks are male in spanish... who knows why? i actually think Maple would be a good female name (allong with willow or holly). it would be cool if there was a dude named "prof. magnolia" magnolia is a fun word. (i only thought of that cuz i can see a magnolia out of my window). haiku about the magnolia:

There actually was a female Professor in the orange Islands series, Brock dates her the entire season and then is found crying in the middle of the road in front of pallet town, he was dumped. For got what her name was though, I KNOW It's one posted here, so if your making a Orange Islands game, study up on that name, and be sure to have brock in the background... :P that would be silly.

Well, the Japanese names whern't based on trees, and plants rather, so I won't be surprised if the name isn't based on a tree.
