So I'm getting diamond real soon and want some help and advice.

Which Pokemon to start with(Not getting all 3) ?

    Which pokemon to capture ?

What lvls they should be at certain points ?

What pokemon should I take on the Elite 4 with ?

Etc, I wanna build a strong team and I have experience from the rest of the games but I've never played Diamond before, so help would be appreciated :)

Some of these questions are infinitely many answers.

But, i think you should take Chimchar, because it has Mixed ATK/SP ATK, and it is fast.
Capture as many pokemon as you can.
Your pokemon should be a little more powerful than the next gym leader your gunna face.
And just take on the E4 with whatever you have (Don't forget to use Palkia/Dialga)

Woah... dude... this is one question too many... err... im not the right guy to give advices about diamond and pearl coz i'll be gettin one soon too... but with some poke experience, i think i can help you with your first question... I would say, Piplup... Why?? Its a super water pokemon that knows flyin type moves...

well i like the chimchar starter :D and infernape has its uses too.

make sure you get a bibarel early on, they will come in very handy as a HM slave.

many people like getting a shinx and evolving it into a luxray, i am not one of them people, however i do admit it looks really quite awesome, just i dont really like it much in battle.

in game just make sure you are strong, most things can enable you to complete the game.

online is another matter, you will need to think a lot about that

It depends on how challenging you want the game to be from the start. The first Gym uses Rock Pokémon, and the second uses Grass Pokémon. Therefore, if you want the game to be hard at first, take Chimchar. It will definitely be worth it later on. If you want it to be easy at first, take whichever you prefer between Turtwig and Piplup. Just make sure you get a Fire, Flying, or Bug Pokémon before reaching Eterna.

Since you'll eventually see all three of them anyway, you can get all three using the GTS. I'm sure there's a WiFi hotspot near you, if you yourself don't have it.

Besides that, try to keep your Pokémon at about 5 levels above those of your opposition, catch everything you don't have, and PM me when you're ready for the Elite Four. I'll give you more detailed advice then.

I personally and statistically would choose Chimchar. Great for speed and mixing with attack. But I'd say the simplest team that'll be sufficient would be to catch a Shinx, Starly and a Bidoof to start of with and gradually catch stronger Pokémon.

I suggest you to pick Piplup. It can evolve into Empeleon and Empeleon's defends are fantastic. And Empeleon will not afraid of Grass Type because Empeleon is Water + Steel. Diamond and Pearl are easy to get National Dex. If you saw every type of Pokemon, except Manaphy, Prof.Rowan will give you a National Dex so you can proceed into Battle Area. You should use Nature to defeat Elite Four. That's all.

Which Pokemon to start with(Not getting all 3) ?
    The one you like.

    Which pokemon to capture ?
    The ones you like.

What lvls they should be at certain points ?
The ones required to keep op winning.

What pokemon should I take on the Elite 4 with ?
The ones you think most capable of the job.

D'ah. It's no fun to 'plan it out'. Just see it as an adventure and go where it takes you. I remember in Sapphire i trained pokemon till level 65 and different types and all to beat the E4, yesterday i did it for my cousin with a lvl 45 kyogre and a lvl 52 swampert and a lot of revives. it's not that hard, just take your favourites.

In my opinion, i would take Chimchar and have it at Infernape before you get the E4. Also, get Dialga or Palkai(depending on game) before you get to the Elites. Try and get your pokes level 65 or higher for the E4 then you can beat the E4 more times to get cash and experience. And rumor has it, if you beat the E4 seven times, you get to battle Professer Rowan! he has lvl100 pokes. You can try, im not sure though good luck with the game!

that last part really isn't true and all the other things are for 6 year old kids that are affraid to risk losing

well for the starter i chose turtwig, he really strong when he evolves but if you choose chimchar, it'll be a whole lot easier through out the game
