I like using the GameFAQs forums but wanted to find a place that was a bit more permanent and where I could learn more about the mechanics of the game. I played a lot of Red and Yellow, and I believe I played some Silver, then nothing until I had Black for about a month. I bought Pokemon X a few weeks ago on the recommendation of a friend and have really enjoyed it so far.

Like I said, looking to learn more about the mechanics of the game, understanding breeding and battling better than I do right now (which is not much beyond "this type is weak against that type.") Also hoping for more accountability when trading; I would like to be able to trade for something with specific stats and not find out I was scammed after the trade takes place.

I don't say much if I don't have a lot to contribute, but I will become more active if I come to like the forums here. (Not sure how these intro posts usually go, but this is my best stab at it.)

Hi there Jezetri, and welcome to PC :)
I think you can be active as time goes, no need to worry about that, and I'm glad that you have Pokemon X and enjoy it, even though I still yet to buy one, I heard it's one good game. I think you should check out Battle Center, you can learn new things and mechanics in battling there. And I recall there's a Trade Corner that you can ask for trading your Pokemon in here too.

You can send me a VM if you want to talk to me, and don't forget that you can ask mods for the help too. See you around, and I hope you learn what's the true key of battling here.

    Hello Jezetri, welcome aboard!

As Windy said, you'll love hanging out around Battle Center if you're interested in improving your battling skills, it's got loads of discussions and there's even places there you can ask questions to get the help you need. We also have a Pokemon Showdown server where you'll meet fellow PC members and also chat, battle and hopefully learn some new things about competitive play.

But yeah, I do hope you can be an active member around the forums and don't hesitate to ask anyone if you have questions. I do love getting to know new members so feel free to leave a visitor message on my profile. I won't bite I promise. Hope to be seeing you around!

The Trade Corner here in the forums is very strict when it comes to trading scammed or hacked Pokemon. Our mods/smods are very keen in detecting all that. They always make sure that your trade is safe and will quarantine that bad Pokemon you may have gotten that has very bad stats & stuff. It's also an infractable offense if people trade out bad Pokemon. Always keeping it safe here ;)

Anyways, welcome aboard! I'm sure you will be able to learn all that at the Trade Corner, as well as the mechanics of the games as well. Our regulars, as well as the staff members can help you with that. PC is very friendly and helpful when it comes to that, really! :3 There's no need for you look any further as you could get most of your questions answered at the XY section, where it mainly focuses on the XY games in general. Try it out!

You will have such a splendid time here, my good sir. :D You can always ask the staff member in bold names any questions or concerns you may have, ok! Have a great time! :)

Oh, PC is going to be absolutely perfect for you. If you're coming back to Pokemon then a community based around such would be a great fit; it's easier to find people who enjoy the series and you'll get your questions answered that much faster. :D Welcome!

It took me a pretty long time to learn the games outside of the typings and natures but you'll definitely get it down without a problem. People here are quite helpful and the board itself moves very fast so that means less of a wait for things you're in need of. X and Y are amazing and very beginner-friendly so of course that was a good choice. I have over 160 hours in mine.. talk about hooked, lool.

You've also posted a great intro so kudos to you. Enjoy your stay and feel free to contact me if you need any help!
