Hello there! You can call me Buster. I joined this forum for the hacking scene. I have two ideas for hacks that I'd like to make soon, both for SoulSilver version (I've just been on a kick of going back to that one lately):

    - A hack where I change all battles to double battles (I love Colosseum/XD), all Pokemon are obtainable (Standard hack stuff, but I'll also add things like Plusle & Minun to early routes so you can take advantage of the double battle situation), and most of the text is edited for comedic effect (Like trolling you when your Pokemon hits itself in confusion or when you try to use a potion on a full-HP Pokemon, etc. I like just writing silly things).
    - A PokeWalker-centric hack where Pokeballs are unobtainable and all of the Walker routes are edited so that you can catch all 493 Pokemon through it (And editing things like trade evos, making evolution items renewable via the Walker, etc). This is the main thing I want to do, inspired by DmitryGR. He wrote an amazing article breaking down the PokeWalker and even dumping its ROM. Sadly, no tools exist that let you edit PokeWalker route data, and I lack the skills to do anything with it myself, so my hope is to find someone who might be able to create a tool to edit PokeWalker routes... The rest I could accomplish myself.

Right now I'm working on getting my first 5 posts made, since I can't post links otherwise (That aforementioned DmitryGR article is a must-have for my future recruitment post!). But I have time anyway since I plan to do the simpler double battle hack first to familiarize myself with the tools. The PokeWalker hack will also be more involved since I'll need to change a lot of things to avoid giving out Pokeballs (Kurt, Bug-Catching Contest, Lucky Number Show...).

I'm also a YouTuber. Currently streaming a 6 Smeargle challenge in Platinum version. I had to make a micro ROM hack to get that running. Replaced Turtwig with Smeargle and added some (invisible) wild grass to Twinleaf Town to catch the rest of the team, lol. If you search for my username on YouTube or Twitch, you'll find me! :)

Hello there Buster, and welcome to the PC!

Hope you can find the help you're looking for with that Pokewalker thing! 👍

Have you tried any ROM hacks or Fangames yourself? If you have, what did you think of them?

I certainly have! The latest hack I've tried is Radical Red. I was seriously impressed with the fact that we can now not only add every Pokémon to the game, but even their cries. I remember playing hacks years ago which added fakemon or later Gen mons, but they always just replaced an existing Pokémon and had the replaced one's cry.
I've enjoyed classic hacks such as Brown, Prism, Shiny Gold (Before HGSS came out even, lol), and Crystal Clear.
