Giving nicknames to your Pokémon is fun. It's better than having to see their names repeated over and over again. Giving nicknames to your Pokémon can also be a way to set your Pokémon apart from others of its species, IMO.
 
i don't really name my pokemon. partly because i have no imagination when it comes to names, plus i actually like the majority of the original names for pokemon.

when trading pokemon you can't change the name of the pokemon you received. i remember i was looking for a cranidos and found one but the nickname read "dick head". i could have traded for it but i didn't wanna pokemon called dick head.
 
sonic, to think that Pokemon cannot be renamed because they love their previous trainer. I find that a little hard to believe!

There should be an instant ban if you name your Pokemon a swear word!

Those kind of trainers need their license revoked.

I always nickname my pokemon... ALWAYS...

it gives them some individuality... <~~ Wow that's a big word, considering it's me.
 
I usually give them there Japanese names or I give them what they look like and translate it in Japanese

It can be fun to make nicknames and there is no such thing as a bad nickname.Express yourself!
