Nintendo Switch online service pricing + delayed to 2018

Nintendo has now revealed that the full Nintendo Switch Online service won?t be coming until 2018. It?ll be called ?Nintendo Switch Online?.

They?ve also revealed the pricing for Americans. It?s quite reasonable at $4 USD a month, $8 for three months and $20 for a year.

My guess is ~$30/year for Australia. [/bias]

dang u beat me too it. honestly i don't have a problem with this. what i do have a problem with however is the pc master race elitist pricks who shove their preferences down everyone else's throat and crap on anything that isn't pc gaming.

personally i am interested in seeing how this all shapes out once we get access to it

The price is fine, but Nintendo is really dropping the ball with the voice chat app thing. You have games with motion controls and you're tethered to a phone and the system, which is held very insecurely in a dock. Sounds like a nightmare.

We also need some way to back up our saves!

Although I'd prefer it to be free like it always has been, I wouldn't mind paying an additional $20 for better service (especially less lag in MK).

this is great news! free up until 2018 is a nice start, but only $20 for the year is very reasonable. well played nintendo.
