Yeah, but teachers get screwed over in pay, a lot. It's one of the lowest paying jobs to be in a public school. They should get more money, it's not always a bad thing, half of the kids probably don't even care.Chairman Kaga said:Actually, it's incredibly unfortunate when someone is forced home because of a school strike o_O; Teacher unions are some of the most selfish in the world, putting their own desires for more money in front of the education of their students, and if our school ever did that I would go to war against it, and transfer to another school if necessary. It may feel fun to have an impromptu vacation, but eventually everyone pays dearly for it.

Human interaction and the humanitarian reasons behind it are find and everything, but eventually you have to remember that they do need money themselves. I've see a lot of teachers forced into bankruptcy because their pay was nowhere near enough for all the bills. Getting out there with the students is nice, but if they don't appreciate it or take in anything, what's the point? If they think they can make a better life for themselves without school, let them try and stop wasting tax payer money.Chairman Kaga said:I know this, teachers who have been at our school ten years make less than first-year teachers at a lot of wealthy city schools around here. The problem is most teachers have told me that they chose the occupation because of what they do with it, not because of the pay...it's more of a public service job, and the rewards are different than money. Mainly the enjoyment of human interaction and frequent breaks to be off with family. I don't like it when teachers go into work knowing this fully well and then complain about it. Yes, most of the students don't care, but it doesn't mean that they're not suffering for it. I wouldn't like to have my education put on hold for the convenience and because of the apathy of everyone else.
