On an unrelated note, I started watching Baccano and Chihayafuru. Also got caught up with JoJo and Isshuukan. :D
 
Not AOTS, that will obviously be SAO.
 
It has trap Kirito, after all. It'll also win awards for best girl of the year. Plus hot traps with guns. What more can one ask for? :p

No tho seriously, I'm going in blank. Not expecting it to be great or a flop. Expecting greatness only results in disappointment as Steins;Gate taught me.
 
Yeah, he's female and has a lightsaber. I'm sure the themes will make it super mature and worth watching though. Have fun. Expect greatness.
 
You really can't tell whether or not I'm serious anymore. Good. That's a good thing. -nods-

For the moment, I'm just gonna watch Baccano. I expect greatness from this show, at least.

I have yet to be able to make myself sit through the third episode of Baccano. I just can't get into it. Kinda boring.
 
I can understand where you're coming from. I've yet to see the third episode myself. :p But I think its one of those stories that make you go "Oh snap, that's it! I see it all makes so much sense now! That was great!" when it all ends and you piece together all the pieces of the story. Some people I trust told me it is worthwhile. So I'm gonna watch it to the end while downloading the rest of the anime I'm supposed to download this month.

There can be various reasons as to why a person would find an anime like Baccano boring, honestly. They might not really have found the characters or the setting interesting till the point they've seen the show. Or something. I'm liking what I've seen and the OP is terrific + show's been recommended to me by my good friends so I'm deffo sticking to it. Watching episode 3 now.

It's not that I'm physically incapable of paying attention; the genre and story don't really interest me. That could change if I force myself to sit through it and actually get interested in it. It's like a mystery book to me, in concept: to really get into a mystery, there has to be something that hooks my attention along the way. That hasn't shown up. Well, Space Dandy and Winry's VAs caught my attention but that doesn't count.

Hmm... Now that Appregio and Sidonia have shown that 3D models are fine for charascters in anime, I hope studios would use the funds saved from production to produce a better product overall, rather than runniong out of budgets due to glitzy fight scenes.
 
Neither of those two series look particularly appealing in my opinion. There is obviously a place for CGI in tv anime but it'll be a while before it's up to a good looking standard imo. Just one of the things I will have to put up with until then.
 
I said fine, not necessarily perfect. These two series are doing fine with the general public whose opinions do matter as these studios do look at the foreign markets now too, even royalties from Crunchyroll do trickle back there.

With some studios struggling to get sales up I'm just looking at the ways the industry could try and obtain the funds to innovate.

It sucks when a series quality starts to go down because the budget gets busted.

Then again they've already outsourced most of the mundane task to South Korea even after animators get piss poor wages because of Tezuka. But I digress.
 
Fine is surely not good enough for you to wish it was more common. I'd take a sketchily animated series over one full of cgi any day. If they brought back the methods from the 70s and 80s I would be so happy.

I don't mind the odd inbetween show like Sidonia but I certainly wouldn't want it to become even a semi regular thing right now.
 
I wouldn't mind seeing older style of animation. It looked good to me, tbh. But yeah, it might not be feasible now...
