Obama has plans of lenghtening school hours...

I'm all for it. We need a better school system, granted longer doesn't always mean better, longer would still help. Besides, I'll be out of high school by the time this kicks in.

So you tell me you actually think we should have more hours of school instead of atleast using 10% of our childhood thinking for our own, inventing, creating, self educating? We should spend more hours in a stuffy classroom literally not learning anything important for future jobs, or really anything important at all?

If this is passed, I'm going to riot. I'm going to get all my friends to riot. I'm going to get my friends families and friends to riot. If you pass this Obama, I swear over my dead body I will get the greatest juvenile revolt the world has ever seen, mark my words :\

So just because it doesn't affect you personally, you are all for it? That is really selfish, you know.
And raising school hours won't help; giving kids more of what they don't want never helps.
The only way that America can give their kids a better education is by putting them back in line and motivating them.

I agree. I'm all for the opposing education stimulus bill, "Every day is a snow day." I think taking away the things that kids don't like, like education, will make for a better and more constructive learning environment. :3

If the children genuinely don't care and won't change their minds, what is the point of them going to school?

... Not really, but seriously Obama? An idiot could see that the hours are not the problem. It's the entire schooling system, and the Government getting involved would only make things worse.

(also note: the teacher's union and American education in general is run by, you guessed it, leftists. :O coincidence?)

No, it is just pure coincidence, these are just the stupid liberals. There are stupid people on every side. You can't look at every single similarity and say that "LOOK, they have X similarities, therefore Y."But I do fail to see how government involvement would be just absolutely DESTROY all of our efforts, albeit with exaggeration in my post.

I don't care. My life is school. Except on weekends then I have an actual social life. So, doesn't really bother me.
