Offensive Team

Apostle, did you forget Lapras can use Thunderbolt/Thunder?
hardc0rerock, it's thought. Only when I make keyboard mistakes it's wrong.
Now for Gyarados, you have no Electric-type move here...you can try ThunderFang on Salamance for the suprise element, but I doubt it will be very effective...

It won't. And Apostle is right, no one uses Lapras in OU's..

But why? It's only medicore stat is speed, great movepool, great trait, great typing...

Poor crystalvelox has to deal with all this.

It's Underused, and not often seen. People don't use it in OU, don't freak out like "OMG YUR LAPRAS WEAK" Seriously, jeez. You want to prove that Lapras is a top tier Pocket Monster? Fine, but take it somewhere else. Everybody BUT you agree it's not a Pocket Monster to seriously worry about, drop it. I'm sure crystalvelox could care less about Lapras. This isn't a Lapras discussion, it's a team that wants some valid rates. If someone can't provide such, get out of the thread.

crystalvelox, I think your team is pretty solid. I use three of those Pocket Monsters, same sets. (Scissor, Suicune, and Heatran) I'd suggest you don't become reckless with Cune or Tran, I've found that the longer you can keep those guys around, the better. That's really what the Pt metagame is about, keeping your Heatran alive.

Still, I agree with hardc0rerock that this team shows a Gyarados weakness. Now who can have the Electric-type move...

lol froslass. As I said, he could opt for HP Electirc on Suicune. Maybe run a calm mind set with Surf, Ice Beam, and HP Electric. If you run 252 Def/ 252 Spa/ 6 HP that gives you sufficient walling on both sides of the spectrum, since you have CM.

No, I can't very well change Suicune. I do that I lose a good tank, which despite being an offensive team I need some kind of tank and this varient of suicune is one of the best. What type of coverage would I lose by taking choice scarf off of Heatran? I've noticed that choice scarf heatran is getting far to predicatable. Are there an suggestions on how to deal with gyarados that doesn't involve me giving HP electric on suicune?

I think Uxie would make a solid addition to this team. It's a very reliable way to stop Gyarados and it sets up Stealth Rocks, which despite being an offensive team I noticed this team lacks. Something like this would be effective:

Uxie @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Stealth Rock
- Reflect / Thunder Wave / Yawn (basically whatever support option you want)
- U-Turn

This is a very effective set in my experiences using it. That third slot also is great against offensive team, and Garchomp being gone really helps Uxie as well.

imo Uxie really helps fill in some gaps on your team. It isn't what I'd call a sweeper though, so if you want a more direct approach, Deoxys-S is always a fun solution.

Alright I made a lot of changes to my team and thus need some new rating on this team.

Your Gyara does couhter other DD Gyara, but only if they don't carry Stone Edge. You also still can't hit other Gyara for super effectivenessness, so go Stone Edge over Ice Fang. Either that, or run a CM Suicune set.

But he has Uxie with Thunderbolt =o.

True, but its only a 2HKO even with SR up. That gives time for Gyara to either switch or set up.

Do i even need to say any more about his "Gyarados weak" lol ?.

As soon as said Gyarados is paralyzed its useless not to mention Thunderbolt. Trust me ANY team with Uxie has never been safer from Gyarados.

Even if you say "But Taunt Gyarados wins" no it doesnt, Thunderbolt 2hko's it whilst it does lol damage with its 16 attack ev waterfall.

Life Orb Gyarados doesnt have Taunt, thus is T-Waved and then T-Bolted. I doubt you even need to T-Wave it to beat it, but still.

Stealth Rock will also prevent it coming back in...

That gives time for Gyara to either switch

Yes that is the whole point in countering something, forcing it to switch or be beaten one on one, which Uxie is more than capable of doing with base 130 def, thunderbolt and Thunderwave lol.

I don't why it is, but this particular thread seems to draw a lot of debating posts to it lol. Now does anyone else have anything to add about rating my team apart from confirming or trying to disconfirm my team is no longer gyarados weak?

Just ensure that Uxie lives if you see Gyarados enter the scene until it goes down. Afterwards, you'll be fine.
