5th Gen Official English Name Discussion

Tsutaaja = Skine or Skivy (Skink/Vine or Ivy), Reptine (Reptile/Vine)

Pokabu = Hoghearth (Hog/Hearth), Pignite (Pig/Ignite), Oinkiln (Oink/Kiln)

Mijimaru = Ottide or Lutide (Otter or Lutrinae/Tide), Seatter (Sea Otter), Lucean (Lutrinae/Ocean), Ottorent (Otter/Torrent), Lutrain (Lutrinae/Rain)
 
I can just tell that Mamambou's name is going to be some horrible pun off of "hug" with its fin-hands. :(

Mijumaru: Wotter (water+ sea otter)
Chillarmy: Chillarmy
Munna: Sleepii (since it is the same species base as Drowzee and is also themed on sleep)

Giaru: Gear (sorry, couldn't think of anything better)
Mamepato: Pidgini (pigeon+tiny)
Darumaka: Emberuma (ember+daruma doll)
Hihidaruma: Flamearuma (flame+daruma doll)
Shimama: Zebrelectric (zebra+electric)
Moguryuu: Molrill (mole+drill from it's drill-like arms)
Doryuuzu: Molmega (evolved form of Moguryuu)
Koromori: Psibat (psychic+bat)
Desukaan: Mumtut (mummy+King Tut)

Zorua: Zorua

Chiiramii's Rominization is Chillarmy, so I think that's its US name.

Muuna was said to be Muuna so that may stay as well.
 
I Think Pokabu (or at least one og its evo's) will be called Napoink (Napalm+Oink)

shimama as zebramp? sorry, but that's really bad. (zebra is dutch) but mijumaru's is really good! and i think giaru's will be just gear.
 
Hehe...Tsutaja should honestly be named Smugleaf. I've never seen Nintendo make a Pokemon name live up to it's current internet memeology, so they would be on my awesome list if they did that!

I also believe that Zoroark, Zorua and Victini are going to keep their japanese names. Hihidarouma or whatever that ugly-ass monkey is called should be named Embrill!

Pokabu should be something like...Blazorn! >:O ANd the baby clown water started thing should totally be an AQUOTTER!

EDIT: Pokewalker@Zebra is English too...
 
Pignition and Wotter/Aquotter for me (referencing Pokabu's final evo and Mijumaru, respectively). I am really hoping that the English names turn out to be awesome...

As far as I know, Reshiram and Zekrom are confirmed as their English names, which is very nice. :cer_boogie: Now I'll just have to wait for Zoroark's name confirmation... (that www.zoroark.com redirect provides high hopes for me, especially. :D)
 
Zorua and Zoroark are likely to simply be romanized as Zolua and Zoloarc. ;P

I was thinking more along the lines of Rukario becoming Lucario, considering the many parallels between the two. XD
 
....That seems legit.

I'm pretty sure the Z two will either keep their japanese names or get the romanized form. Fenix...Pignition. That sounds awesome.
