Gen 2's theme was treasure, while gen 4's was the most Hardest stone, Ultimate smoothness, and most precious metal :)
Yeah Grey fits gen 5 theme ;)
 
...I still think it'll be Opal, which is sort of close to grey. D:
 
Really? :D That supports my theory even more! Since yeah, rainbow also works, but that's not gunna happen.

Yeah Really :D! Yeah Rainbow doesn't have that nice of a ring as Black or white, nor Grey or Opal have...
 
Well, if it's Opal it sort of doesn't have much to do with B/W, because ~everyone~ is expecting Grey and if it isn't Grey thennn...yeah. XD;

Lots of people expected a precious metal addition to DP too...so maybe it is Grey ;)

Yeah, but the modifier to the front is done to separate them from the games of the same name. Like they couldn't call FireRed "Red" because Red already exists. Besides, I believe Pokemon USA already announced the English names, and they were the Black and White versions.

I believe they have also, didn't they do that when they announced the mascots...
 
Forever, I like the ring of Opal, I just don't agree that it fits.

Black, White, and Grey? Really? That sounds awful, as does Grey, as a name. I was thinking more along the lines of a synonym of chromatic (you know, one that actually sounds good as a name). I understand how Grey fits, as far as colors go, it just still sounds awful. I can't see them using it as a name, honestly.
 
I still don't get why people think Crimson is a good match for Black and White. It will almost certainly be Grey.

Red and Blue make Purple but there hasn't been a purple. Just because black and white make grey doesn't mean it will be grey.

I really hate this argument. People use it all the time. No, no previous game has used a combination of the colors/minerals in the main games' titles. BUT that does not mean that since it's never happened before, it CANNOT happen now. I find grey a whole lot more likely than Crimson, or Brown, or whatever else people have been suggesting.
 
Well black is the absence of all colors and white is all the colors. Maybe they go in more of pokemon spectrum version or something like that.
 
I found this intresting fact about Grey: Grey (often spelled gray in the U.S., see spelling differences) describes the colors ranging from black to white. These, including white and black, are known as achromatic colors or neutral colors. These "new" neutrals have low colorfulness and chroma
