5th Gen Official Rumours Thread

Warning: I feel like I've repeated myself 15 times.

Actually, Tentacruel is pretty popular, not just because its younger brother is infamous for being annoying, but because it can actually fight.

Honestly, it's a much better idea than leaving them to rot and be forgotten while other pokemon get the spotlight. I don't see how giving them an evolution would ruin them. OH MY GOD, THE SERIES CHANGED, HOW ABSURD. It changes every four years Nica, if you're going to keep complaining about every little tweak then you really shouldn't buy every single pokemon game religiously.

That covers one, but you didn't mention Seaking. Do you expect it to get an evolution too now, because it wasn't popular and is ~forgotten~, like Golduck apparently was? Really, with you mentioning "forgotten", I don't see how Golduck is actually forgotten. In HG, I found the Psyduck line in many water routes, while the other water Pokemon... not so much. Pokemon with two evolutions don't need evolutions as much as the ones without evolutions do, (like you referred to with Farfetch'd).

Every little tweak? I'm saying if it follows the route of generation 4, then there will be waaaay too many evolutions for Pokemon that don't need them. Golduck is fine as it is, while I can think of many others who DO need an improvement. Not that I'm saying it shouldn't but... I just really really really don't think it's needed.

I'm not saying Golduck should get an evo, I'm just saying that it wouldn't really look bad if it had one.

And Mamanbo really doesn't look that bad to me. At first I was pretty shocked and sorta disturbed, but now I've grown used to it.

Mhm yeah, despite it not being necessary, if it does turn out to be an evolution, hopefully it won't look too much like gen 4's evolutions of gen 1 Pokemon. D:

Idk I was weird with it, I sorta liked it... as soon as I saw it. XD; For others though, they're sorta grown on me.

I never really understood why people freak out over the prospect of new evolutions to old Pokemon. If you didn't like it before, and would've never used it, why would you get mad over something else that you may never use? Or, even worse, you'll like it and use it?

I could understand if it was a Pokemon you really liked, and you're afraid of it getting messed up, but that's usually not the case. Sometimes it is, though.

I guess I should change what I say. USELESS is the term I meant to use. Golduck currently is and will always be forgotten to anyone who actually cares about stats, especially considering the huge number of water types in the pokedex. It may be popular in-game, but in competitive, it is all but popular.

So tell me, apart from the badass duck look and Cloud Nine that Golduck has, what makes it stick out among other water types?

Many pokemon actually got evolutions that made them useful. No one would use Tangela if it weren't for Tangrowth; I mean, it's found in 4 areas in HG/SS. Would anyone actually use it if it didn't get Tangrowth? The same for Misdreavus and Murkrow.

However, DPPt did add some useless evolutions. Rhyperior sticks out a lot, with Dusknoir close behind.

Sure, you might be right but... really, I'm sure you can name a lot others out of 400 something that do need evolutions more than Golduck.

Tangela? What, many people found its evolution sort of ugly...and, I like the fact that it's rare, because it makes the Pokemon that much more appealing to me, making me more likely to use it. Misdreavus, I actually plan on going to find one, and Murkrow was adorable without its evolution, so I'll probably train it.

Well I don't think second evolutions don't really need another evolution. Ones without evo's, sure, but... then again, if I use it often, it'd be kind of weird.

After generation 3 (and excluding Mamanbo), all the evolutions to older Pokemon weren't...appealing in the least to me.

I can't argue with you there, but do remember that water is the hardest place for pokemon to stick out, with them having about 1/5 of the pokedex.

Tangrowth is kinda freaky, but I'm talking about more than aesthetic appeal. Murkrow was Sharpedo fragile and can't really sweep with 85 Attack and SpAttack. Tangela had poor HP and Special Defense and was weak to fire and ice, two common types.

They all got evolutions that vastly improved their ability to fight.

Really? Post gen-3, the only one I can truly say I disliked was Mamanbo. Most were okay, but there were a couple that I really liked. Ambipom, Honchkrow, and Electivire come to mind, though there are others.

i fell in love with roserade <3

brilliant design and it can hold its own in battle :)

Omg I know, Roserade is my favorite Pokemon of all time and it is an evolution of a previous Pokemon. I dont think we should just diss the idea until we get another Probopass/Tangrowth.

Agree with everything here ^_^ I absolutely love Roserade and Froslass next. I didn't pay attention to the rest so I don't diss them. Dusknoir was pretty cool.

i dunno why so many people ignore roserade i mean a lot of people never even mention it when saying there favourite evo/ least favourite evo..

i dunno why that is because its by far my favourite!

i like froslass too interesting design :)

I vote the title be changed to the B/W DCC: We have rumours too!

Mamanbo is cuuute. D: I can't even picture Electivire in my head, lol :(

Well yeah that's a good point, but...still. Qwilfish is a completely forgotten water Pokemon. D:

...well yeah in attacks, I guess it makes a good point but for those that have decent attacks/stats they don't really need improvements.

Roserade is actually one of the generation 4 evolved Pokemon that I don't hate. I actually used it in-game with Pearl.

i dunno why so many people ignore roserade i mean a lot of people never even mention it when saying there favourite evo/ least favourite evo..

Cause I forgot it existed tbh, so do others probably. XD;

for me, roserade was my favourite pokemon out of the fourth gen and one of my 2 favourites over all and i honestly dont understand how people forget about it! maybe because its not in the "new evo" section of the pokedex?

Anybody seen this guy? Was on bulbapedia before it got deleted.. the file was pakurisu.jpg or something. so i think it's called pakurisu.

(the picture is so big i had to link it)

Fake? real?
I'd like it to be, but it'd be pretty useless.
Looks like a rip-off of chiraamii.

A pachirisu prevo maybe? Looks kinda like it

Fake. Fake. Fake.

For one, the design isn't neat around the edges and secondly, Pachirisu doesn't need an evolution or pre-evo and it doesn't match Sugimori's art either.
