Earlier today I caught myself singing the American national anthem, shocked that I even knew the words. So now I want to know if you guys have your nation's anthem committed to memory.

I have to sing it everyday in choir, so I know the Star Spangled Banner pretty well.
I know all of mine:

Spoiler:

I think there are more lyrics to it though...

LOL. i had to memrize it in elementry school. ANd now my senior year in middle school! I still hav it all memerized. LOL :)

I can sing both the English and French versions of O Canada from memory. I've had to sing both versions by heart since I was six, so at this point, it's kind of hard to forget. >:

Although lately, they're making us sing the French one more so I know that one pretty well, but I'm starting to forget the English version. Not good. ;_;

I use to know the Australian Anthem, but.. I haven't sung or heard it for a while.. XD; But I'm sure if I heard it again, I would probably remember on the dot.

I know the first verse of the Star-Spangled Banner... I think. XD; I've had to sing it for choir quite a few times, so that's where I really learned it.

Don't know the others, though. ...I'm pretty sure there's others... *shifty eyes*

I had to think about it for a minute before voting to make sure I knew it, but yeah, I do.

I've been a spectator at waaay too many baseball games to not have the American anthem memorized.

I don't know and I don't plan to know it.

Yes. School forces students to like, memorize this. And as early as 1st grade, so... Well, we know the lyrics by heart.

Yup I know mine.....Its in Gaelic though..Will translate it :)

We'll sing a song, a soldier's song,
With cheering rousing chorus,
As round our blazing fires we throng,
The starry heavens o'er us;
Impatient for the coming fight,
And as we wait the morning's light,
Here in the silence of the night,
We'll Sing a soldier's song.
Chorus:
Soldiers are we , whose lives are pledged to Ireland;
Some have come from a land beyond the wave.
Sworn to be free, No more our ancient sire land
Shall shelter the despot or the slave.
Tonight we man the Bearna Baoghal
In Erin's cause, come woe or weal
'Mid cannons' roar and rifles flare,
We'll Sing a soldier's song.

In valley green, on towering crag,
Our fathers fought before us,
And conquered 'neath the same old flag
That's proudly floating o'er us.
We're children of a fighting race,
That never yet has known disgrace,
And as we march, the foe to face,
We'll Sing a soldier's song.

Chorus

Sons of the Gael! Men of the Pale!
The long watched day is breaking;
The serried ranks of Inisfail
Shall set the Tyrant quaking.
Our camp fires now are burning low;
See in the east a silv'ry glow,
Out yonder waits the Saxon foe,
So sing a soldier's song.

Think thats right :) Its basically tells of how we had to fight for our freedom from the English
Before I get hate mail no I do not hate the English.

I know Advanced Australia Fair of by heart since it is quite simple. There are actually more than two verses but no one sings them so... o.o

Since preschool, in every assembly we were forced to sing it.
